'Judging' Basketball

I am coming up on my one year TNet anniversary so kinda a novice here. 'Judge' seems to be the resident expert on Tiger Basketball. I am positive he is a fan. I am a fan of he if just because he never backs down. I have noticed some here tend to slam 'Judge' as a sunshine pumper and apologist of Coach Brownell, even taking it to even other forums (like football). Brownell has an ACC record of 95–99.
Looks like I will not get to see a game on TV until the Temple game next week. I do hope to attend a few games this season. I admit to being a "pumper". The orange overalls I bought there years back are getting frayed some, but remain serviceable and priceless.
What do yall and especially 'Judge' predict as to our regular season ACC record this season?
Also just for fun, how many ACC wins would it take to make you OK with the team and the coach?

The coots were the only SEC team that voted to play out of conference teams last year. They wanted to play Clemson.
Also, Judge Keller has a great selection of Clemson themed socks if you're in the market for that.

I don't have a problem with the Judge but some on here do. Almost to the problematic stage.

I don't need more orange socks as I have them. Christmas and birthdays always mean I get more orange gear. I could open my own store. I also like nekid womin, but no one ever gives me a stripper-gram.

We will hover somewhere around .500.

Wash Rinse Repeat
And yeah the Judge is cool. Hardheaded and hypercritical of the football staff but cool nonetheless.

Brownell won in Chapel Hill, so he can have a lifetime contract as far as I'm concerned.
The lows aren't bad, but it would be nice if we developed talent such that every few years when things aligned we could challenge in the NCAA and possibly go deep in the NCAA tournament.
We seem to have too many players come in and then leave. Maybe that's the landscape but it doesn't show much development.
While it's acceptable that we finish .400 to .600 most years in the ACC, it's hard to get excited about it.
and whether we make the NCAAs or not usually gets decided in December. We made it last year because of a good pre-acc schedule and record and miss it most years because of losing those games.

Great summation of the program

It’s a hard place to win until our administration puts the time and money into it that we did with our football program. I’m not sure of the exact numbers but I saw a list last year of recruiting budgets for basketball in the ACC and our number was fairly telling of the real commitment the university has to the program.

To be honest most of the $$ is not awarded by the admin but from outside. At Clemson football is more popular. Resources "available" as to football and basketball are different. I do not believe the admin is against basketball and not doing all they can. In the day I trained to box in a store room as that was available.

The horror!!!!
For me, I’d like to see the tigers climb a bit this year in the ACC rankings maybe a spot or two. Hard to tell at this point what this small team will do and hang in there down the stretch, but I too am a pumper and clearly the same person as JK so I’m paid for.
I seriously think we have a good year and make the tourney.

Tangent (do not read, stay on main post)
Back in the 1800's there was just ONE tavern where you could buy beer in downtown Clemson. It was that triangle building in the above photo. Do any recall the name? I do not.

That is fine if the judge wants to be pro Brad. I think Brad is OK but need to finally get to two NCAAs bids straight, and not positive this team can do that. NiT might be the ceiling. He doesn't have to put down the football program just because they are having an off year for their standards. Those years are far and between. Both program are apples and oranges and never should be compared to one another. If he has problem with the basketball program not getting more funding he needs to take that up with the school, not the fans.

I don’t think anyone dislikes judge, he’s actually a decent guy from what I have read. We had a misunderstanding but I applaud is tiger pride.
I think a lot of people think he jumps on football to compensate for basketball shortcomings but that’s understandable given his ties. I think he does as well after research but I can’t blame him. We need more passionate basketball fans and wether or not he’s in the staff like some speculate, he’s not wrong in the lack of support. He’s just wrong on a lot of football posts.

I believe the Judge honestly feels Clemson BB is not capable of doing any better without a lot more money. I disagree as Brad and his staff are not very good recruiters and have never had a good offensive scheme. We do well when we shoot the 3 at a high percentage but if not we suffer. We lost the 6 10 Kidd to VA TEC as he transferred out. Dorman high in Spartanburg had another great 6 10 guy that just signed with Alabama. I’m here to say the right coach can keep some of these guys home.

It seems to be considered "low class" or "defensive" here to post on your own OP. I prefer more of a conversation, so always expect that from me.
