Josh Belk reason
May 16, 2018, 4:02 PM

Report comes out that it is due to his mother’s health. Don’t place your ego and fandom for a team (that will be fine with his departure) over a young mans relationship with his mother. We don’t know the details and we shouldn’t assume. Josh had a great relationship with Dabo and Bates, and was a standout in Spring, so clearly there’s a greater reason. Don’t slander this kid. Instead, represent Clemson FAMILY values.

Also, he has not enrolled anywhere yet. If he really his helping this family, then he wouldn’t have a big role on whatever team he was on.

He shouldn't enroll anywhere. If he enrolls at another school there is more than a 'family' excuse we are not hearing about.

stop saying this as it is not true. He did enroll at Clemson in January. He went through spring practice. He played in the spring game and was credited with a tackle.

We will not lose to SCAR because of one player or plays 7 months away from a game. We have better players at every position, better coaches, and a better culture.

to hurt us. Some players have been here 3 years and the coaches still don't trust that they know or understand the playbook/system well enough to put them on the field. Be a big person and wish him well and pray his mother is OK.

The coach’s are selfless enough to allow him to continue to get a free education while putting his family first. Don’t claim to be a part of the Clemson Family if you can’t realize life is more then the game of football. Something Dabo preaches constantly.

We should not be wishing him success if he goes to USUCK. We can hope that his personal issues are resolved, but we do not need to wish him success on the field.

But some folks, being more of the mindset similar to Dabo, will wish him well beyond just the well being of his family.

That's perfectly fine. I'll ask you in November to wish him success on the 24th.
Clemson fans don't cheer for USCjr no matter what the reason is or who the player is.
Again, good luck off the field to Belk. Bad luck on the field.

I won't be pulling for USuC but will feel perfectly ok with saying that I wish Josh well being and success on the 24th of November.
Frankly it won't make any difference because a) Josh won't be playing as he'll still have to sit out the mandated NCAA year post-transfer and b) even if he was, I cannot imagine a scenario where he as one player was able to make that big of a difference to where I would be worried that the USuC football team will win a game over Clemson

You clearly haven't been paying attention. He is being granted unconditional release. Meaning that he can play IMMEDIATELY.
The fact that you'd wish a Coot good luck when playing against us tells me all I need to know.

Unconditional release means that he can play immediately. That trumps the NCAA document. You are literally the only one on the board that is still posting that he has to sit a year.

I can clearly see and acknowledge that it states that it is an unconditional release. Perhaps you should go read the NCAA transfer document I linked. It says nothing about unconditional releases and that allowing schools to bypass the one year sitting out.

You may be right if an "unconditional release" is the same thing as a "transfer exception", but the NCAA rules do not say anything about an unconditional release. Perhaps the statement that came out meant a "one time transfer exception" rather than an unconditional release.
From the rules: "You have a written release agreement from your current school stating it does not object to you receiving a transfer exception."

I’m not talking about football. I talking about a man’s relationship with his sick mother. If you’ve ever had a sick or dying parent, you would know that it becomes the only thing. I doubt he’s worrying about football.

That is the difference in driving distance. That is a quick drive. We aren't talking about Fruh returning to Florida.
I doubt his mother's medical issue is the whole reason. I know that 1.5 hrs would not make a difference for me to see my mother, even when she is healthy.

I don’t care where he goes, or what he does with football. I wish his mother well and hope he finds comfort being closer to her. I will not be pulling for SCAR.
Also, I graduated from Clemson, have been a lifelong IPTAY member. But I can also put aside my fandom for greater life values.

Do you think he has 2 hours to round trip to home every day from columbia? I just can't see his mom being the only issue if he enrolls at any other school. Until we hear more i'll assume he has some issue with being at Clemson outside of driving distance.

I hope the young man has success wherever he goes. The only time I wish he doesn't have success is if he's playing against us. Other than that, I'd never hope for a young person to fail in anything they set out to do.
