Jordan Travis Scrambles To His Right!

Watched a couple of FSU games and it was mentioned more than a few times: "when Travis gets flushed it's more often than not to his right"!

NOTE: THIS ISN'T TO SAY HE IS INCAPABLE OF SCRAMBLING ANY OTHER WAY. HIS BIG PLAYS JUST GO UP SCRAMBLING TO THE RIGHT!

NCSU was pretty much overloading one side of the formation; typically the right side! A few times they overloaded the side that the RB wasn't on.
Wake did a similar thing and it was pretty effective.

I "speculate" we send someone his way early/often and get him off his spot. DEs (KJ and Mascol) are on the alert to catch the fly(cat Jordan Travis) when he leaves the nest(the pocket)! LOL! {do flies have a nest}?

They flashed a screenshot of his scramble drill scrambling right vs. scrambling left and "it's very telling"! Much less effective going left - which makes sense because he is right-handed.

He does a tremendous job of keeping his eyes downfield. He has large human beings to target downfield. The last thing we need to do is make it easy on him.
We have very fast LB's in Carter and Simpson and Trotter! We will need them.

Look for his scrambles where he looks to leak to his right out the pocket!

For just one play I would like to see LaVonta Bentley to go full Dunham on some FSU player.
Its ok with me if its Travis on the right or left

I had high hopes for L. Bentley!
I think he's good; but maybe a bit of a liability in space.
He seems more like a Big 10 LB to me. Still a really good player who; that in a different scheme will have a shot at the NFL.
He will have to get better in coverage though.

He does bring it when he gets to the ball carrier!

If XT was playing his normal position, left DE, Travis would get crushed.

Middle pressure and force him out the pocket; sounds like a winner.

You beat me to it Spud. The left DE (Henry, Mascoll or Swint) set the edge and contain while Murphy or XT crush him from behind. I'm pretty sure Davis, Ruke, Bresee and a host of DTs will want to get their hits in too. Ask Jurkovec how that back side hit from XT felt last Saturday.
