This guy is hyped something special but I've not been overly impressed with him this year. Yes he is pretty dang good but more or less he is just fat and hold his spot. He doesnt get many tackles and hardly any TFLs. He may force some plays to go the other direction but with UGAs defense, not like thats a recipe for success.
Personally, I think there were several guys more deserving. Will Anderson is probably the best defender in the country in terms of disruption and its not even close.
I know its pointless but they gave Jordan Davis this award back in Septemeber and he really doesnt do much.

You need to watch more film of Will Anderson. Not even close, I’d much rather have Will Anderson on my team vs Davis. Done.

Yeah, he’s tough to miss, but this guy is under hyped if anything. He should have gotten more heisman buzz. Let the big guys have some fun too.

I am far from an expert re football, but I believe DTs don't have to have a lot of stats. They have to take up space and be disruptive.

I should have prefaced it by saying I dont think he is worthy of the defensive POY. Im not denying he is very good but defensive player of the year? Nah, I'll take Will Anderson any day of the week. Davis' role could easily have been filled by several others. He's good, im not denying that but let's not act like he's all world. He has a pretty stout influence over offenses when he's in there but the man is 360 lbs and alot of guys his size would....and they make him look better bc of the guys around him.
Let me just spell some real facts here. He has only been in on 2 sacks since the Clemson game and those were shared. He has 3 TFL total on the season and only 2 since Clemson.....2 in 11 games for a disruptive DL. Also, no forced fumbles, no recoveries, no pass deflections.
He's great at what he does but he is not the best defensive player in the country. He's just not.

If he played at a better weight he would be a more dominant force. He was a non factor against bama. Interesting to see if the khakis run hurry up to get him gassed.

I laughed when the started talking about Davis and Heismen. Where were those same Dawgs when Big Dex and Wilkins dominated DL. And yes, beat Bama and could play 3 downs without oxygen. Fat boys got to get in shape if he can.
