This guy was my idol in about 3-5 grade. Man, hate to see him caught up in that. He wrote me a personal note to my house after we met his parents one time and I was wearing a 45 jersey. ######.

Just a personal opinion: I think the main reason the NT says to remember and visit prisoners is that prison is the place where one most clearly and objectively hears, "You are worthless and rejected." In prison, one is maybe most ready to hear that this is a universal condition, but one that doesnt have to be permanent.

I was convicted of several felonies at 19, did 38 months, got out, got a 2 year degree and have never been back. None of my felonies were violent so that makes it easier. Certain felonies can definitely ruin your life. That being said if you truly change and learn your lesson you can have a good life afterwards.

The problem is so many companies do background checks and so many careers the licensing is problem. That's not to.mention housing situations renting at times.

Yep, typically companies don’t care after 7 years from conviction date as long as you stayed out of trouble. I got mine expunged. Nothing shows up unless I decided to apply for a federal job. I did have some trouble renting when I first got out. Had to find a spot in the hood for a few years. That was entertaining.

It's the licensing that gets so many people. The licensing becomes the problem.

Life is a series of choices and we are all capable of making bad ones. I have to think there was some underlying issue driving this choice

This doesn’t sound like a simple mistake. Sounds more like planned deception and theft carried out over a period of time. Just can’t tolerate a thief.

I’m of the opinion that thieves are worse than murderers in 90% of the cases.
“I don’t have what I want but you do. So imma take it”
In this d bag’s case, he was willing to ruin lives and futures.
Most murders are crimes of passion. Terrible, yes. And avoidable. But they are spur of the moment. Mine isn’t a popular opinion, but it’s mine

In. Loved the kids drive and work ethic in the weight room. Sad to read this today. Frustrated that he did that to people.

It is a sad situation. Considering the large amounts of money involved I'm surprised he didnt get more time.

I think about the people that he deceived and some that maybe he even wiped out. Think of how you would feel if that were you that had possibly lost everything. Not much sympathy for a thief.

The people he deceived may try to get revenge on him so he has got a difficult road ahead of him.
