Jensen Castle

I didn’t realize until this afternoon that Jensen, who is from West Columbia, is in the finals of the USGA Women’s Amateur today. She practiced and took lessons at the range that I use. The match is currently tied and is being broadcast on TGC.

She won 2 & 1 after listening all afternoon to Morgan Pressel and the rest of her cronies promoting the Asian, Arizona girl as a sure winner. Pressel criticized her every move especially her putting stroke. Fitting that she made a 20' birdie putt to close out the match. She is a rising sophomore at Kentucky. How did we miss out on her? Congratulations Jensen.

We didn’t offer her a scholarship. USuC didn’t either until right at the end. I don’t know why, since it was obvious her junior year in high school that she was going to be an outstanding D1 player.

It was a huge mistake. My friends daughter taught her at Gray's. Always talked about what a wonderful student she was as well as her atheletic ability. I'd jab at Melissa about talking her into going to Clemson... Never crossed my mind we'd be so inept and not offer her.

Hearing that we didn't just breaks my heart. Certainly not privy to any of the details but dang.
