He wanted to play at Clemson out of High School , but no serious interest from the Tiger staff deferred him to USuC , after his daddy was hired there.
He is bitter about it to this day.
Dabo and his staff can probably forget getting any kids from that HS as long as Baby Jake is there.

His Dad was the HC at Byrnes HS in Duncan. PC hired Bobby Bentley as HC. I am not 100% sure but I think he won 1 game. He came back to Spartanburg then they went to Auburn from Auburn to the coots. The coots gave Jake the Red Carpet treatment until they saw him play š
There were rumors that Mama Bentley ran that household.

I Coach against Bobby Bentley when he was at Byrnes HS. He changed the HS game with his offense in the early 2000s.
When he went to PC, the decision to transition from DII to DI was in the works. This was a MAJOR mistake! PC has a small alumni base because of its size and thus limited monetary resources.
He was at PC for two years going 6-5 his first year and 4-7 his second year.
Michael Allen was the HC at Nation Ford before JB. He had several DI players during his tenure at NF.
The biggest problem with NF is a new Principal and AD. JB was the OC at Rock Hill HS last year and did a good job with the QBs. Time will tell us how he does, but the community is excited from what Iām told.
