And, Amen to what he said about the day your kid is finally consistently potty trained! Double Amen w/extra sauce, LOL!
We won't know until the spring game and fall camp for certain; but I feel really good about this group! Again, this is where the philosophy of recruiting the person 1st comes in! Now, a kid has to have "un-tapped" potential; but as long as they are willing to work they'll be fine. And, this coaching staff rarely brings in kids who can't get over today's entitlement syndrome! The kids who want to be good and want to be challenged b/c they believe in themselves can win you a ton of games. Especially, when surrounded by "out the box" talent! Or guys who came to campus physically ready to contribute. See the beauty? If X kid who was a 3 star out works Mr. 5 star at Clemson Mr. 3 star starts and gets the majority of the snaps! Two entitled 5 star kids at other schools "may not push each other like that"! Because those players have(through the recruiting process) likely been pampered/promised/given(people trying to use them). "Certainly NOT ALL" but many get complacent and plateau as a result! Many 3 star kids feel like they got over looked and work their behinds off to prove people were wrong! I say 3 star but heck; 2 star all pro players like Grady Jarrett too! Or walk on players like Hunter Renfrow.
In short, we have a really good group of players who will answer the bell on the DL. We have a few 300 pounders(Pinckney, Williams, Jefferies*297, T. Davis*295). And, fall camp is not until August. Knowing you will be or have the potential to win an "opportunity" to start for the National Champions DL is all the motivation a kid needs. They know everyone is doubting them; which to a kid is extra motivation. I thought Pinckney could have started honestly and w/the number of minutes he played I consider him a starter! He played a ton of ball in critical times of the games. Williams a former DE will be quick for a DT and at 310 will be trouble for opposing OL. T. Johnson - can't wait to see how he looks. L. Cash is going to be an early contributor; love how he plays(motor). Ruke and Ethinosa late comers to American football but big strong physical players. Think Jason Piere-Paul! Raw talent in the hands of Brent Venables and Todd Bates! That should scare people right there! We will be fine on DL!

I've heard some great analogies from Dabo, but....

this may be his best one yet. LOL!!
On a different note, Dan Brooks was one of the best D Line coaches in the country in his career, and he called Todd Bates the best coach on the field during summer camps a few years ago (before Todd Bates was hired by Dabo). So, we're really gonna find out this year with a very young, inexperienced line how good he is. That goes for Lemanski Hall too.

That's because Etinosa Reuben hasn't been playing football long from my understanding! 3 star b/c he's very raw! But, all the tools are there to mold and shape. 4 & 5 star kids are supposed to be able to contribute pretty much day 1. He and Ruke(raw athletic/ not a long football history) will be projects. If a program has time and patience to put in them; they could end up being not just good; but great players. Clemson is the perfect place for these guys(maybe a year too late to the beginning of it). We may need them to step in and become rotation players earlier than we would like; but they both will be solid!

My only concern was numbers and at the DT position. I am looking forward to whether the freshman can use their pass rush skills inside. I was panicking all throughout the recruiting process as to whether we were bringing in true DTs. But also can they get some size on them to stop the run. Pinckney and Williams need to get healthy, quickly. Has Kelly grown into a DT?

I could spend the rest of my life in joyous celebration without ever hearing the ridiculous "Diaper Dandy" reference of doofus #### Vitale. The visual of a 300-pound man wearing diapers overwhelms the senses.
