We have a great chance with him. He came to FSU last year and Louisville this year, and left very impressed both times. We're a premier power offering a top-20 education and our main competition for him, SCar, is an absolute dumpster fire.

I have him around 70/30 towards South Carolina. He grew up a fan, family wants him to go there, only an hour away, he could go there and be a Day 1 starter, "Next Clowney" lure. I'm at the point now where I don't think their successes (failures) even matter that much to him.
With Clemson, we're obviously the better program, with better facilities, play on a national stage almost weekly and almost guaranteed a Gameday visit at least once a year, a better staff, and a proven position coach that can pump out 1st round talent. But we're also three hours away, grew up hating us, probably not a Day 1 starter, and Florence is around 70/30 towards South Carolina as well.
It's an uphill battle but with Venables/Hobby and the trajectory of the program, it's possible but I wouldn't get your hopes us too high.

I heard from a birdie that scar coaches frequently visits his parents car wash in Florence. Don't know how true it is though,but I wouldn't doubt it.
