Yall seeing this stuff about dirt peckers letting

Bama score at the end to have time to get the ball back rather than force them to make a field goal. Man that’s a tough look. Not sure how fivehead is gonna explain that but it doesn’t seem bright to me. Wasn’t watching live so not sure about time and timeouts but geez.

With the time remaining in the game and how their offensive line really sucks and their offense not exactly moving at will ever this season, PLUS the fact the offense literally just gave Bama the ball back, you take your chances with the field goal. The percentages will always be in favor of them missing the kick rather you going 40-50-60 or 70 yards to score another TD.
It was stupid. But coots are stupid, so it all checks out.

Yes, I believe the Gamecock player had a bet on the OVER in this game. Only explanation I can think of. Good thing I’m no coach because letting another team score is not in my DNA. Bama player should have just fell down but hindsight is 20/20, and field goals are not automatic when a game is on the line.

Even one of the announcers said

the guy shouldn’t have scored but took a knee on the 5
After spending 5 minutes talking about how the kicker had never kicked a game winning field goal
Ever
A sure 7 > 3 every time.
Plus they have to get a TD to tie not just get in field goal range
Makes no sense

There are times to let a team score but that definitely was not one of them.

It was not an idiot move to let Bama score. The idiot move

was the Bama kid not taking a knee at the 2 yard line. Dirtpeckers were out of timeouts.
It was the only way they had any chance of getting the ball back.

Four bad things can happen on a FG attempt
2
Oct 26, 2025, 11:25 AM
|
|
1 Bad snap 2 Fumbled hold 3 Errant kick 4 Blocked kick by defense
Now compare that to all the things that have to go right to go 80 yards in 30 seconds with no timeouts and score a tying TD.
TV football announcers get paid to talk _ and create interest often by controversy.

Yes. I would never take a chance on winning the Game with a fg. Like you said all those can happen. I would take the td anyday and make the team gave to score a td , sc had zero time outs and only 45 sec to dr Ce the length of the field. Id rathwr have seven point lead anyday than tusk a fg being blocked or bad snap. That kicker had never kicked a game winning fg Has there been like 2 mins or more then taking a knee inside the 5 would have been better but since it was only like 45 sec left, think the td was the right move. Glad bama won

According to The State (coot gazette) Beamer instructed the team that if Alabama made a first down inside the 10 yard line to let them score. It wasn't the player's (#1) decision, he was following Beamer's orders.
Obviously this has generated a lot of discussion/dissention among coot fans.

could stop the clock was to let them score and get the ball back. There only hope was to tie the game after getting the kickoff. But, that did not work either.

Beamer is a likable guy but he makes some really bad hires and some stupid in-game decisions. He is definitely not an SEC caliber head coach.

As far as gamblers go, the score made no difference. Even with the score, the coots beat the spread which I believe was 12.5.

They had no timeouts left. Letting Bama score was the right thing to do.

Super COOT had to offer his opinion which no one really cares about. COOT 09 seems to know it all. Very annoying. COOTS talked smack the whole game. Deserved to lose. Go Ole Miss.

He said we were trying to stop them. But if they got a first down they could run the clock out and kick a chip shot field goal to win. Beamer had the right strategy, coots just didn’t execute before or after that decision was made.

I think the defender made that last second call on his own. Just a little pressure brain fart. Coaches should have made it clear to the players what they wanted on that drive.
