No knock on Henry, but....

Doesn't it feel like the running back position at Bama is a plug-n-play position. After Henry leaves Bama, we will have the same conversation about the next guy. Hopefully We will be having the same discussion about KB, but he has some tall orders to fill when Watson leaves.

take watson or the kid at staford off of their teams and both clemson and stanford are no where near as good..meanwhile bama without henry is about the same.

Don't flame me, but that says something about Bama. We love to rag on them and give them hell, but that team is loaded with talent and their roster is DEEP. I still think we can beat them, but they really do deserve more respect than many of us on here give them. Scary thought, Alabama this year with DW4 as QB. No one would be able to walk on the field with them.

Their roster is deep is because of all of the Homerism on ESPN about how great the SEC is. Do you know how many 5 stars Saban has let walk away due to over signing. Kids want to go to Alabama because they have a chance to win a National Title. Why on earth would the #1 WR in the country go to Alabama when they run the ball 70% of the time? Because of the chance of Winning a title. Running backs go there because they will be fed the ball 7 times out of 10. And behind that oline any kid can get the yards that Henry, Lacy, Ingram, Yeldon have gotten. We are going to see how "great" they are when Smart heads to UGA.

Smart may or may not do great things at UGA. Time will tell. Uga has its problems and Mark Richt was not the major one. Lack of support from the administration is the major problem at UGA. Will Smart get that kind of support? I doubt it.

This is bad, and you should feel bad.

McCaffrey won it. I agree with you regarding Henry and Alabama. I can think of 2-3 running backs that could have put better numbers if they played for Alabama--Leonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey and Dalvin Cook.

although bama always has a great line and most rb's will perform great running behind it..
there aren't many guys that you can plug in that can handle 35 carries a game and not miss any time
a lot of people were mentioning his usage as a negative but bama obviosuly relied on him to carry them and he didn't disappoint..his durability is impressive
and their qb is hot garbage so they wouldn't be in the playoffs without him
still think our d holds him under 100 though

Point taken, but no one on Clemsons team could have replaced the productivity that Watson has on Clemson's team. I'm confidant that Henry will have a fully capable replacement in Watsons case I'm not so sure. I think KB has the running skills as Watson does but not passing.
