The biggest positive from the UNC game is that it's obvious to everyone

that the portal is our only option for QB next season.
The worst thing would've been if The Vizzler randomly balled out.

we do not have anyone at Clemson who has a clue about developing/coaching up/getting the potential out of QBs? Based on the last ten years I'm going with the latter. More's the pity for the Vizz and CKlub. I don't think there was any help for DJU. He wasn't going to ever be a top-tier QB no matter who coached him.

Nobody has any realistic idea about Vizzina. In 3 years his career stats are 25-45, 245 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs, 11 rushes 39 YDs. All with 2nd and 3rd teamers in garbage time. That's hardly a good sample size. I'm not saying he's going to win a Heisman. I'm also not saying he's worthless.(BTW) Those stats I believe don't count Saturday's. Maybe with some more reps with the 1st teamers he might surprise.

I'd say the coaches think THEY have some idea about him, because...

at 1-3 with a starter who ain't coming back, what's the point of playing CKlub unless they've written Vizz as the man of the future??
It's CLEAR that we'll be looking to the portal for a quick fix while waiting/hoping for one of the younger QBs to develop... because the days of plug/play freshman QBs ala DW4 and TL16 are evidently OVER.

All you kids want to do is complain about the coaches and that is sad. Here's a tip, if a QB is not born with the God given talent to play the position and gets to college hoping to learn the skills needed, he is sol. If there is an issue with our coaches it is not in failure to develop but rather in a failure to recruit. The other problem is that every future QB will be compared to Deshaun and Trevor and we will likely never have another kid that talented much less 2 in a row.

Agreed… it’s really just mastering the offense. DJ nor Cade look very comfortable as far as having any confidence imo. Cade needs more help out of the RB position for starters. Have not noticed if or when the receivers are getting open. Is he on time? Or is he holding the ball? Some may know the answers to these questions but imo confidence is needed as far as Cade goes. He has the tools.

I haven't seen a Clemson QB get noticeably better since Boyd. He and the entire offense was night and day different between 2010 and 2011.
Both Watson and Lawrence seemed to regress during the first half of their second seasons as starters, and we saw what happened with DJU and Klubnik. DJU lights up ND for a record number of yards and looks completely different then next year. Klubnik comes in the ACC CG and whips UNC then seemly regresses the next year. How could Klubnik look like that three years ago then look like he has the first four games in 2025?

Our QB room is nowhere as dynamic as the Watson and Lawrence years.

Not as good as the Tajh Boyd years either. Sad how far our QB situation has fallen.

Taj Boyd did not take a backseat to those two. Our D wasn't as good in his years. The "O" was stellar.

The fact that he didn't exactly shine against a terrible UNCheat team tells us all we need to know.
We have absolutely, positively, got to land a portal QB for next season.

I sure wouldn’t put any monies on Clemson purchasing a QB. I may be wrong but I would be shocked if it did happen.
