into the selection committee?
No bias here right?
Southeastern 7 (Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi St., Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt)
Big 12 3 (TCU, Texas, Texas Tech)
Pac-12 3 (Arizona, Oregon, Stanford)
Conference USA 1 (Louisiana Tech)
Atlantic Coast 1 (Notre Dame)
American Athletic 1 (East Carolina)
The same can be said for the softball selections

college baseball. Do I like it? No.
If Georgia played in any other conference they would be a LOCK to get in. But, because they play in the SEC, the level of competition they face was elite and they had too many losses.
I literally HATE THE SEC.
But, it is what it is and I gotta deal with it.
I’m guessing (and hope I’m wrong) that 4-6 SEC teams will make the CWS.
And, an SEC team will win the title again this year.
Hate it, but it is what it is.

Imo it was worse for softball. Softball from the standpoint of not only hosting but the placement of teams.
As for baseball, probably not. Most of the problem arose from picking pre determined sites at the first of March. Plus, the ACC and other conferences limited their ooc schedule. Although with the ACC, I'm not sure it mattered as it was only 6 games.
Down year for ACC baseball. First time I can ever remember a full member ACC team not being a host. To me, that makes what we did (losing record) that much worse. Our top 50 rpi record was abysmal 8-24. Especially when those 24 losses were mostly teams with 40-50 rpi.
It will be interesting to see how the ACC stacks up in the regionals and if any make it to Omaha... Including ND. FSU has the best chance imo.

I’m not even saying give us a regional but if we aren’t getting a regional no way we should have drawn Oklahoma or Alabama. Yes I get that’s admitting there is an sec team that is storied and been there but there are several sec schools that I wished we’d have played over Alabama. As far as baseball we have no argument so if someone else wants to complain then fine but we have no grounds in baseball

unfortunately I feel there is a lot more justification for the way baseball fell out than softball.. ACC baseball was garbage all year. I honestly think they are stretching to give ND a regional. I don't know of any ACC team that has earned a 2 seed much less hosting. Hopefully things improve. Don't really follow the other conferences a lot so maybe there are some teams out there who deserve to host over TN and SC, but I can't think of any right off the top of my head. I totally understand your point and I definitely think there is a preference to put in a ridiculous amount of SEC teams, and that is true of every sport. Anyone who would deny this has their head in the sand.

We will most likely be the #2 seen in our regional with ODU at the one seed. ODU didn't put in a bid to host, therefore they weren't considered.

Extreme bias exist with the SEC. If Rogue and Dawg don't see it, your heads have been in the sand. Another method of selection needs to be found because the present one is too political and corrupt.

If you want to know why the Regionals shook out as they did, this is why:
https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/baseball/d1/rpi
Neither Farfield nor ODU submitted a bid, eventhough ODU could have used the Norfolk Triple A stadium. And...Notre Dame did earn its Regional.

in the softball seedings. Putting the 19th rpi Tigers in the regional with the #3 seed was freaking ridiculous. That said the stupid committee considered them the 30th seed in the tourney.

Not completely sure, but in baseball after selecting Regional sites I have understood that the other criteria that comes into effect is travel distance for the teams. They try to keep travel expenses reasonable for the "non-hosting" teams so that reduces expenses for the school and, hopefully, more fans will show. I would guess they do the same in softball which could lead to some unusual matchups.

They also seem to try to avoid conference and rival matchups in the Regionals if possible, preferring to save those for the Super Regionals or Omaha.
Whatever it takes to keep the fans interested and attending.

Disagree on ND. When you play less games than your competition (11 games fewer) I don't feel its earned. I felt the same way about Ohio St in football. Maybe they win all / some those 11 games and then there is no question. I understand that is not the world we live in, but anything short of a CWS appearance for ND and I will feel justified in my opinion.
