Spencer Shuey

Aug 22, 2013, 4:54 PM

article in todays "Observer" was first rate. Good to see my Tigers becoming a front page team again ... in a N.C. newspaper no less!

On a side note ... where did S.C rate in the list of state education that was announced today? Good ole N.C. was dead last at 50!

Not much demand for Zwahlli translators!

is there a link for your side note

I find that hard to believe-- must be some obscure ranking-- there are usually quite a few states behind NC-- primarily deep south

Don't have a link. I read it in the Observer. N.C. has fallen behind Mississippi and Alabama in the last few years. The new Gov. (R) is on the hot seat. Rightly so.

I believe that was referring to the latest ACT test score rankings. The entire state was required to take it last year for the first time as juniors. Amount of test takers made numbers from previous year go way down.

You do realize the new governor you speak of has only been in office for 7 months. What could he possibly have done in that time to affect any of these rankings and be on the hot seat. Prior to him, there's only been corrupt Gov.'s with a (D) beside their name. That's what is rightly so. Geez! Sorry to respond to this on the football board but ignorance is hard for me to ignore sometimes.

Sorry that I lack your political acuteness but I am sure that you have not been following N.C. politics in recent months. The new Gov. just gave an unbelievable pay increase to two of his young aides while cutting all education funding and teachers pay. I suspect that he will not get very many votes from the educators in the N.C. school system. I know of many, many lifetime R's who vow to never vote to re-elect this character.

It is about time Shue got his due. He is ignored even

by many Tiger fans who write about our "great" linebackers - Anthony, Jones, Christian, and Steward leaving Shuey completely out of their posts. I am not convinced yet that Shuey should have been moved from his Mike position. He was lights out after replacing Anthony last year and if you watch the practice films, #33 was making the most and best tackles. I hope they all live up to modest Shuey's standards and indeed we will be Linebacker U. again and stop the running games starting with Gurley/Marshall! GO TIGERS!
