Clemson Cops too Busy to deal with Rock...
Jun 19, 2013, 10:23 AM

Guys,
Our Clemson PD is way too busy with more pressing items than to deal with some chip off the old Rock.
They are right now strategizing on how many Minor In Possession tickets they can write at the UGA game.
How they will "swoop" into Highpoint this fall and raid the apartments for "contraband".
Where will they set up radar today? Perimeter Road?
How many parking tickets can we write?
Busy, busy PD.

Sure seems like he has. In my 6 years of school there and every home football game after that, I've never had a problem with them.

Not me personally, but I have seem them "bust into" tailgates, demand to see ID's, so the targets are guilty until they prove themselves innocent.
Plus, many friends children at Clemson have told me the stories about the Minor in Possession pursuit the CU PD have toward the students.

night before my graduation in December 1985, my parents were in town and staying at the Holiday Inn. My grandparents and aunt were staying at my cousin's apartment. My cousin was not in town as she was home for Christmas break.
After an evening of visiting and dinner, we all went our separate ways. I went out with friends, my parents back to their hotel and my other relatives to my cousin's apartment in the neighborhood behind Tigertown Tavern and the drug store. I forgot to mention that my aunt was 8-months pregnant.
As my grandparents and aunt were preparing for bed, a loud banging on the door began. The person on the other side of that door turned out to be a crazy man, a Charles Manson type. He was very serious about what he intended to do. He was yelling very graphically nasty and abusive things about what he was going to do to a pregnant woman. He was yelling things of a sexual nature as well as threatening to kill all of them. My relatives immediately began praying in addition to calling the police on the phone.
My grandparents and aunt started screaming back through the door that he needed to leave and that he must have the wrong location. They called the Clemson police and were told that nobody could come immediately because they were having their yearly Christmas Party and there was nobody available to send. As God as my witness, that is what they were told. They just had to hunker down and pray for the door to hold. They could see the door giving as it was being kicked. finally, out of the blue, he just left.
That and other, less serious, events forever changed my opinion of the police. They have not ever been, and will never be, of much help. I will be prepared and anyone that enters my house under similar circumstances will have done the last thing they will ever do before making the transition to life after death.
The Clemson Police Department is small time, uneducated, poorly paid, and is of little use to people in need of serious police help.

sheriff's department in addition to the call to the police. I was just so stunned at the answer they got. I think once they were told nobody was coming, it was just sort of a panic situation that involved a strategy of, "door don't fail us now" and trying to plead with the person to go away.

You are aware, I'm sure, that the name "Parking Services" has the same connotation as in the agriculture department when bulls are said to "Service" cows.

You will MOT receive justice if you venture into the Clemson courtroom. I filed a complaint with the S.C. Judicial Board and got nowhere. Poorly staffed, poorly equipped and poorly prepared to be fair to students or anyone else.
The 'Rockgate" will NEVER be solved if those clowns are in charge.

Clemson PD are softies compared to the Athens PD

Clemson PD has treated me better than I deserved on a few occasions.
Athens is a fun town, but their cops are gestapo. They ride around on bicycles sneaking up on people.
They cruise up to the passenger windows of cars stopped at red lights and bust them for open container.
They love to bust guys taking leaks in alleyways.

a few years ago. On a typical street with cars lining it, just behind the Esso club. No signs against parking, and other cars then parked in the same spot afterwards! They still owe me damages for this.

CU Police do not have jurisdiction off campus and they are the PD investigating the attack on the Rock.
