NCST is one of those programs where if the "right" coach were hired, could be competitive. Fortunately for us, they chose Doreen.

Highly doubtful. They just signed him to a 5 year extension at 5.5 Million a year last spring.

That's what I'm hearing from NC State fans I know. Doorknob Dave may be an issue. But if they get rid of him they have two. His buyout and who they get to replace him. A mass exodus of players in the portal will tell the tale.
He seems to do enough to keep his job. Finish at .500 or better and go to a bowl. Not a very high bar, regardless of what he says.

If he isn't retained at NCST then he might get picked to replace "Lame Beamer" at SC since they are the "graveyard" of coaches. A place where careers end.

I definitely could see it. This season has certainly already gone south for them.
I think so because NC State thinks they can do better. They want to be Clemson, and will try to by finding a different coach.

IF he wins out, then he DESERVES to be made NC State COACH FOR LIFE.

1. Get a washed up has-been who just wants a paycheck to help sunset his career, OR 2. Find an up and comer that wont stick around once he proves himself.
Now, the second is tough because those guys typically think they can do better than NCST or USuC and know they could immediately tank their futures at those cesspools.
