Is anyone excited about baseball season?

I know I'm not. Wish I had some reasons to be more optimistic.

The good news is any success will be a welcome surprise. I guess it is good when you feel like the team is at the bottom and is still ranked in the top 25 of some polls.

Good....then we won't have to save a place for you at any of the games, or worry about you climbing on the bandwagon should the Tigers have a successful season and make a concerted run towards Omaha.
Have a good spring. Maybe you can find another college team to cheer for.

Hate to burst your bubble but I have season tickets so I'll be at the majority of the games. Saying I'm not optimistic doesn't mean I'm not a fan of the team or am not going to support them.

I hope Jack proves me wrong, but no

This is going to be one of those "prepare for the worst, hope for the best" type years for me. It's hard to believe how far removed we are from those CWS teams we had in the last decade. I still look back fondly to those days in the Doug watching Moskos, Colvin, and so many others tear it up.
We'll get back there one day, I just don't think it'll be this year. We've got some talent, but I had the sense that Jack is burnt out these last few years. He's been doing this forever, nobody is immune to burnout.

I was a kid at the game when Tyler Colvin hit the grand slam walk off in the super regional. Man, those were the days. Never gonna forget that moment.

Should have been a sure win, but we started raking and broke their hearts in the 8th or 9th. I can't remember the exact numbers, but it was my favorite Clemson baseball moment. Because screw the Jackets.

Hate to say it but I'm just tired of watching a perennial...

Champion not accomplish anything year after year.
I guess we are going to let Jack "Bobby Bowden" our baseball program. Love him to death and appreciate what he's accomplished but its time to go.

Jack used to win the ACC, at least

It's a shame we couldn't ever get over the CWS hump with him, but I respect him a lot for those ACC titles.
It's just been a long while now, which isn't OK.

"Jack used to win the ACC"
He has won it once in the last nineteen or so years.

I'm excited to see if jack has implemented the things DRad asked of him. If not it will be the beginning of the end for Jack. You can't play baseball in a pressure cooker and kids are now flipping from CU to Scar, even ones that are lifelong clemson fans.
he will basically need to pull a rabbit out of a hat.

Well I love baseball and high hopes every year until we lose to the Coots. By the Time we play the Coots you just know it's a typical Jack team.

these guys like them

“I’ve got them tagged as an Omaha sleeper,” said Aaron Fitt on D1Baseball’s preview podcast. “This team is going to be good. I love the athleticism and love the balance…I believe in Clemson this year. I thought they were going to be great last year and I was disappointed by the fact that they let me down. Underachieved last year. This year, they should be much better.
“I don’t know if I’d call these guys a surprise,” said Kendall Rogers. “They’re always solid. For me, it might be Clemson. A lot of people are talking about the Louisvilles, the Florida States, the Virginias. I kinda feel Clemson could be pretty solid. I think when you look at these guys on the mound, sure they lost Daniel Gossett, but you look at the four-man rotation including the midweek with Matthew Crownover, Zack Erwin – a guy that can get up to 91-92 – Jake Long, an experienced senior in the No. 3 spot and Clate Schmidt, a No. 4 – I really like this frontline part of the staff. I also think, you saw Steven Duggar over the summer and look at Weston Wilson, these guys have a lot of talent offensively too.”
