Is 18 wins and the NIT good enough for Brownell?

Article posted on here yesterday has him on the hot seat (and rightfully so) but they believed 18 wins and trip to the NIT was enough to save his job. I say its the big dance or bust. What in your eyes saves his job?

No , I want him to take us dancing ...and I would view falling short of that a failure . It has been long enough now for him to do this university a solid and take us back to the tournament .
I say make thefield and it's all good . Miss the NCAA and it's go time .

Jaron returning and the talent we have obtained through transfers/recruiting should be contenders this year. We are going to need them as the ACC is absolutely loaded this year.

Same as I said last year and the year before that.
This is the year that is NCAA T or bust.

I think we need to make NCAA for him to keep his job. Way past time.

Healthy team, first and foremost.
I think he and the team see opportunity to compete for top 4 in ACC. Note his focus on a fast start...those early losses kept us out last year.
Forget pressure from outside, he and the team crave winning and will be driven this year. With Blossingame, the leadership is there.
Very excited about the year.

" If Clemson is an NIT team again this season, if the school decides to get ambitious and make a change because of this, it would be reasonable."
Seems to be the popular opinion that he needs to reach the NCAA Tournament, but I think DRad would likely not make a move if he gets to the NIT.

get him fired, but i can assure you that the fans would want him fired. We were 17-14 last year. We have 29 games on the schedule plus the chance of an additional game in the Orlando tourny and then at least one game in the ACCT. I don't think 18-12 or 18-13 is going to satisfy many fans. That's hardly any improvement over last year and this team is supposed to be better.
At a minimum his seat would be really, really hot.

I am annoyed by the slow start every year where we lose pre-ACC to crappy teams.
That shouldn't happen every year with returning and experienced teams.
Fix that, and we probably make the NCAAs.
Looking at the program overall, as long as we are on an upward trajectory, keep the coach.
If we get to the point where we peak with an NIT bid and next year is a rebuilding year, change coaches.

We should expect to make the tourney, especially with some better talent and a true home court for the first time in 2 years.
We'll know if it was a good season or not at the end of the year. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
