While we wait for the Selection Show, some nuggets gathered along the way:

Adam Randall's 41-yard kickoff return to the 45-yard line with 9 seconds left was the longest kickoff return by a Clemson player this year by 13 yards. It was the longest by a Tiger since Will Shipley had a 60-yard return vs. Kentucky in the 2023 Gator Bowl.

Clemson committed no penalties in the win over SMU, the second time that’s happened since 1952. In the 1952 Gator Bowl against Miami (Fla.) to end the 1951 season, the Tigers committed 0 penalties, which was the first penalty-free game in the school's history. Until 2023 against Notre Dame and last night.

Nolan Hauser hit a 56-yarder to walk off the Mustangs. The previous long game-winning field goal on the last play of the game was David Treadwell’s 46-yarder at Georgia in 1986.

The last time the Tigers used a walk-off field goal to win? Some dude named Chandler Catanzaro walked off LSU in the Peach Bowl back in 2013.

Hauser’s 56-yarder was the fourth-longest field goal in Clemson history, the longest away from Death Valley, and the longest game-winner in school history.

This is an incredible stat - Clemson has now won a postseason game (conference championship, bowl game and/or national championship game) in 14 consecutive seasons, extending the longest streak on record in major college football history.

Clemson has now won each of its last nine ACC Championship Game appearances. Clemson joined Oklahoma (nine straight amid 2004-20) and Alabama (nine straight amid 2009-23) as the only teams ever to win nine consecutive conference title game appearances.

The victory was the first walk-off win in ACC Championship Game history.

Bryant Wesco’s 143 receiving yards were the 10th-most by a Clemson true freshman since the NCAA instituted permanent freshman eligibility in 1972. It was the most by a Clemson true freshman in a postseason game since Justyn Ross’ 153 yards against Alabama to end the 2018 season. Wesco’s career day came against an SMU program whose campus is roughly 30 miles from his hometown of Midlothian, Texas.
