After thinking about the wild press conference the other day it dawned on me, this is the most classic coach speak rant we've seen in a long time. No one in the media is talking about Cade underperforming, or the injuries, or the loss, or the bad half against troy, or the bad play calling, bad offensive scheme everyone is talking about the coach and the fanbase.
I'm not saying we don't have a ton of issues, or things we need to take care of. There's still fundamental flaws in this team and program that need to be addressed. But having a 20 min loaded up ready to go rant after the question "is there any play you'd like to have back from Saturday?" is massive coach speak and everyone has fallen for it.
After winning their 2nd title Kirby talked about how people picked them to go 7-5?! No one with eyes thought that was gonna happen but the guys in the building believed it.
Ol saban went on a huge rant "you don't remember the georgia southern game do you" a couple years after they beat GA southern (who did run the ball very well on that loaded bama roster) in a lead up to a G5 game that had nothing to do with the question asked. Also in 22 said everyone basically "has written us off" after their second loss of the season.
I HOPE this is a "Tyler from Spartanburg" moment that galvanizes the guys in the building. We will see how this team looks down the stretch.

No one was talking about those other things because they had already beat that drum previously. There really wasn't much new to say. Dabo definitely started a new thread in the media and that became the "new news" regarding Clemson. Attention spans are short; I don't honestly think any of this had any significant meaning or impact one way or the other.
Saturday begins a new cycle and the narrative will be around our play and our results, and all the other stuff will be like "fish wrapped in yesterday's newspaper."

It has not been a fun week in the facilities for the team or his staff from what I’m understanding. He’s been tearing ### all week long basically.

The bottom line? Hopefully the QB gets his head on straight and plays like he’s capable.
All the ranting and raving and pushing players and coaches, that’s all well and good, and needed, but if the QB doesn’t figure things out it’s all for naught.
Teams don’t become great without a great QB. That’s the primary issue affecting this team and why we are literally 1-2 and have literally lost on the last play of the game for both losses. Cade plays better and we are 3-0.

Everyone but you has realized that this team has more issues than QB. Woeful Coaching , zero run game , dropped passes , zero depth on defense, slow LBs not named Brown , very disappointing DL play. You are the only that hasn’t realized these issues z
