The good and bad from last night

The good
Fought hard coming back from double digit deficits several times.
Tyson held up well guarding an excellent small forward at times. Our best frontline is Tyson-Shieffelin-Hall when he's finally ready. Unsure why he played so little tonight.
Beadle and Godfrey both played well, though Beadle missed to many 3's.
Defense has improved
Iowa is good. We played them toe-to-toe. I know it's a close loss, but still encouraging on a neutral floor.
The bad
Rebounding-more Tyson-Sheiffelin-Hall please. We are not efficient enough on offense to drop 4 on defense on possessions. We need second shots. A sacrifice has to be made somewhere
Three point shooting
Officiating was abysmal
No post game with Hall playing little
Best lineup as of now-Hunter, Galloway, Tyson, Shieffelin, Hall? Not sure what was up with him

The good was that UNC lost in basketball and football. Florida State beat Florida which helps out power ranking.

Yeah it was an entertaining game, and it was unfortunate that we came up just short.
I agree with your analysis.
Rebounding has been extremely disappointing this year. We have been without our best rebounder for most of the season, but it still needs to get way better.
I was very impressed with Godfrey. He's a good dribbler, and is starting to finish around the basket. Physically, the dude is a beast.
Defense has improved throughout the year. Part of it is teams haven't continued to hit crazy 3's on us all game.
The refs were terrible. I never complain about the refs. They were awful for Clemson from start to finish. Touch fouls called on us all game, abd they rarely called them on iowa. I was beyond frustrated by the refs last night.
Hard to expect to beat a good team when your best player doesn't really play, and our second best player had foul trouble and played limited minutes in the first half. We get all, I believe this was a positive step. We need to win out in our non-conference.

Winning out won't be easy

we have a string of really competitive games from here on out. Need to adjust to hit the boards, we have no choice. Though a loss, I thought we showed some things last night. But will we consistently do so is my question. We have no more layups this year

I agree that there are not many gimmes, but we should be favored in every non-conference games going forward. We need to run the table.

I agree with all of this.

We have to fix our rebounding issues. We gave up entirely too many offensive rebounds last night.
We also need to shoot better. We got good looks, just didn’t convert.
PJ Hall still isn’t right, and he’s more of a liability than an asset right now.
I thought our defense on Iowa was outstanding.
Officiating was awful, and wasn’t consistent on both ends. We were called for fouls when we were just standing there with our arms up. The worst was the non-call when Iowa went over Schieffelin’s back for the offensive rebound and putback. That was huge.

Amazing Iowa and Iowa St can put together good competitive teams every year and we can't. I was born in Iowa, still have relatives there so I go to some different games when I visit. The schools are in cities smaller than Greenville area, they are surrounded by corn fields, the schools don't offer any better amenities, but they have better fan support because because students don't have anything better to do and they put a better product on the floor. There is zero reason that Clemson can't put as good of team on the floor. Students used to flood Jervey when OP was there because the style of play was fun and seemed we were always in the game even if we lost. Plus he was winning when the ACC had lot better teams overall.
Talking about fans and students, i went to a 3 school wrestling tournament at Iowa couple years ago and they had an arena packed for wrestling. I think it was almost 13,000 in attendance and their arena holds around 15-16k. They get 13k for wrestling and we cant get 6k for bball. I don't say negative things about CBB but it's time for our school to promote a better atmosphere and product for bball.
