I'm surprised that Goodwin's on the field and Conn in the booth

instead of the other way around. I would've thought Goodwin would be in the booth, so he could see the big picture of the defense! Has Dabo commented on why Goodwin is on the field and Conn up in the booth?

If Wes is taking Brent's place, why would he be up in the box. After all we didn't have the "get-back "guy for nothing?

Since Goodwin is supposed to have the photographic memory, I would've thought be could see the big picture of the defense much better from up in the roof. I'm not complaining, it seemed to work great last night...just curious.

Mr. Goodwin is the defensive coordinator and Mr. Cohn is the co-coordinator. The location of each relative to the field is a continuation of their past practices. We all know how much Dabo hates change.

When the Goodwin/Conn combo was first announced, I also thought Wes would be up in the box.
Seemed like Wes was the mastermind, and Conn was more of the communicator.
But of course, I’m sure the right choice was made…and it’s working out great so far!

Doesn’t surprise me one bit. Conn is a safeties coach. He can diagnose formations better up top better to relay to Goodwin and Reed on the field to adjust their coverages.
