Would a loss to Auburn rank up there with the worst losses in history? Having a QB like DW and a team as loaded as the Tigers are, the excitement of a NC. Then lose the first game of the season to none other than Auburn. I say it might be second right behind WV.
By the way I think to Tigers win by 2 TDs, but it's going to be a tough game for 3 quarters.

Time to recover. If we lose any game, let' hope it's this one and Auburn has a great season. Can still win ACC and get into playoffs.

We will be behind the eight ball all season long. Would about have to have Auburn win the SEC. It's going to be tough for a 1 loss ACC team to get in the playoffs. I agree tho if we do lose only 1 game, this is the best one to lose .

It's the first game of the season and Auburn has a very tough schedule . A lot of things can happen after this game.

it would likely mean that Auburn is very good. People seem to forget that they recruit in that top tier and were picked to win the SEC last year. If they find answers at QB and DB, they can make a run.

It depends on how All Barns season goes after that. If they were to beat us then have a crappy season.....we would never see the playoffs.
But we aren't gonna lose! And that's all I'm saying 'bout that.

Yep I believe we are better and will wear them down But they will bring it . It's going to be a hard hitting game for sure. I hope we can rush the ball without DW taking too many hits.

They do have a good DL. I don't think they have much more than that. A decent OL as well but not many great WRs and no QB that is proven. A decent RB. I just do not see them scoring that much on us of our DEs play a decent game an I expect them to. Our secondary is going to be better than most think I believe. I know DW and the O will put up atleast 35 on their unconditioned SEC D.

Not close to worse opening loss--try shutout at UNC in 1996

45-0 after 41-0 shutout in Gator to Syracuse. That was a hard, hard time.
UGA in 2014 was also a hard one for me.

Besides the fact that it was about 115 degrees at kickoff, I don't think the Tigers crossed the 50 the entire game.

Season opener, going on the road its gonna be a hostile environment, everyone coming in with high hopes on the season, I think we will open up with some 3 and outs, but I think by the end of the first or beginning of the second quarter, we will pick up from last year and start clicking on all cylinders, I'm thinking 35-14 clemson.

OMG, WHAT A HORRIBLE period in Clemson football history. Had to leave UNC game mid 3rd are because a few drunk fans were getting very ugly at me and my 13 year old daughter...so bad that other UNC fans started against those drunks. Even apologized to us as we were leaving.

If we lose any game this year, this would hurt the least.

"CLemsoning" term will reappear. Auburn will be a good team. Steele has better players to work with and more depth than when he was here so their defense will be better than people on here think.

place last year. WE were one mistake away from losing that game. So even bad teams on their home turf can flip a ###### on you if you think its a mere formality to show up and play. I know our guys will be pumped to play and I think we will perform well but all ya'll jokers thinking we show up and blow them out just b/c they sucked last year need to revisit Syracuse. That game scared me to death.

Don't think that way... It will poison the wellspring of your imagination.
One game at a time friends. That's the mentality we need. Can't wait for the start of this season...
