They’re really trying too hard to get the “poor us” mentality.

Ohio State wasn't hyped all year. It took a while before they cracked the top 4. They didn't get to #2 until LSU beat Alabama.
The media hype about the Big Ten was focused on Jim Harbaugh and Michigan, until they were exposed as a mirage by the Army game.

By week 6 they were top 4 with the LSU 5th. The undefeated teams were still being sorted out. They were never disrespected, nor was any team. They are just trying to convince themselves.

Not the same at all. One is a National Champion that hasn’t lost is 2 years, that was dropped from number 1 to number 5 and there was speculation they would get left out of the playoffs even without a loss. That is disrespect.
The other ascended to number 1. Dropped to number 2 in the final poll. I guess that is what he is seeing as disrespect. I’m not seeing it.

Clemson is the ONLY team in the modern era of college football to be ranked a consensus preseason No. 1 and then drop in the polls without losing a game.
I won't even get into Lawrence and Etienne, arguably the two best players in the nation at their respective positions, being snubbed by the post-season awards.
