Boston College Game
Oct 1, 2012, 11:56 AM

|
We purchased tickets online through the Clemson ticket office and our nephew, a Boston native who had to work, gave us two season tickets. My son and I took the Clemson tickets which were located right behind the Tiger Band near the end zone.
The Boston Season tickets, located near midfield, were used by my son-in-law and my grandson. It was my twelve year old grandson's first ever college game( the price he pays for living in NYC). He said that the experience .." was Awesome"!
A couple of observations:
1.A couple of Clemson fans on the seat behind me and my son were not very pleasant. Among other comments made, was one when a pass right toward the corner of our end zone was incomplete he yelled " What are you doing, Stupid?". The lady???? next to him had an even dirtier mouth.Such an environment doesn't make for pleasant afternoon.
2.My son-in-law texted us that there were empty seats next to them. So, mid way through the First Quarter, we moved up to the BC Season Ticket area. The BC fans were very cordial and were commenting through out the game that the Tiger offense was awesome. Then when the game ended, they complimented us on a great game. We also complimented them on their performance. So, every BC fan we encountered was very friendly and welcoming.
3.Boston College is to be commended for the very well organized way they handled parking and bus service to the stadium. We parked at an Industrial parking lot in Needham and there were many busses waiting to transport us(at no cost) to the campus. Then the busses were standing by to take us back after the game. With the congestion around the BC campus, trying to find parking close by would have been almost impossible. So, thanks to the administration for providing such good service.

have always seemed to get along well and have respect on and off the field. Location, culture, etc are so different that you wouldn't think they would have an affinity for each other but they do.

Based on the replays they showed at the game.....

everyone in the stadium, including the BC fans, though the call on the field would be overturned and ruled a TD.

Correct me if I am wrong....

but if a ball carrier touches the pylonn with the ball while diving in to the endzone, isn't it considered a touchdown?

Yes, that's a touchdown.
Apparently you must have the ball in your possession before hitting the pylon.

On the TV a few series later, they actually cited the rule number and read it out on the air. I was surprised, but it was a proper call by the crew.

and can honestly say that I didn't hear any inappropriate comments from Tiger fans although a lot of people did voice their displeasure about the trickeration play that resulted in an interception.
