I’m guessing the Heisman is all but sealed up

Sep 4, 2022, 12:06 PM

Based on what I’ve read and heard on ESPN, the Florida QB has followed the tradition of winning the award after just one week of football.

TBH, probably not a far fetched hypotheses. Recent history has shown it’ll never be a Clemson player, might be as the result of one stellar game (Lamar), or whomever ESPN falls in love with (definitely an SEC player, usually an Alabama player).

First week darlings rarely win it. To keep the interest up, they push a dark horse (at beginning of year) hard to get eyeballs on the set.

Richardson played a great game against a very good Utah team but until somebody proves otherwise, it will be a double dip for Bryce Young.

The Heisman Committee is a useless entity. You are correct, ESPN determines who wins it. They try very hard for it to be an SEC player whether deserving or not.

I'm hoping Bijon Robinson runs for a buck fifty+ against Alabama and jumps to the top of the list. I know , I know but that's about the only way somebody outside the SEC or CJ Stroud doesn't win it. Personally I think Stroud eliminated himself yesterday but what do I know

He made quite a few bad throws

Don’t couch out Iowa’s QB Pentras. Admittedly a long shot…

Sep 4, 2022, 3:26 PM

He went 11-29 for 109 yards, 0 TDs but only 1 Int. Project those stats over 12 games!

I figured it’s in the same box as the Natty already headed to Athens.

He had a great game (dadgummit!). He played much better than I expected or wanted him to play (drat!).

But, he is operating behind a porous OL. He better be Cam Newton II if he expects to stay healthy all year. He may be. If he is that good and stays healthy he could win the Heisman. But, one game does not a season make.
