I really thought we would be good this year.

Maybe going forward, it would be great if people didn't anoint a position group, like say our DL, as really good, until they actually show it on the field. With all these so-called top NFL prospects, we could stop Haynes King from running the ball when everyone in the stadium knew that is what he was going to do.

Going back to the LSU game, I thought LSU was going to come into the game tight and nervous with all the hype/importance their coach put on them for that game. But it turned out that Clemson has been tight and nervous the whole season, I think because of the high expectations. We haven't been able to handle that, and it shows big time.

I think most of us are disappointed. Not so much because we lost, but as you pointed out the expectation was so much higher - and much of that expectation was set by our own coaches with their statements.

Teams have figured out that if they double-team our DTs and let the center get on the MLB, they can quickly send the QB or RB up the middle before the DEs can get the QB.

One way to confuse an offense running that attack would be stunts and twists by DTs and DEs - and maybe I missed it, but don't recall seeing a lot of that action recently. Our DL just seems to play blocking dummies.

That’s what I noticed also, our vaulted defense seems to always be stood straight up and engaged forever. Just what the other teams strives to do. The defense line seems very slow and no imagination (for lack of a better word ) . Maybe they should move them to OL. They would be great there. The offense, I wouldn’t even know where to begin.
