their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
What kind and brand of bread do you like? What is your favorite brand of peanut butter and do you prefer creamy or crunchy? Do you use jelly or preserves and what flavor do you use?
For myself I my favorite consisted of Old Fashioned Bunny Bread, JIF Creamy peanut butter, and Welches grape concord jelly.
There was a time I could make 3-8 sandwiches and eat them with no problem!
Now I can't find any Old Fashioned Bunny Bread and my metabolism is not what it once was.

Not picky about the bread as long as it's fresh and soft
A thin coat of Peter Pan crunchy (I'll use creamy but I prefer the other)
A heaping helping of Smucker's STRAWBERRY jam (far prefer it to grape), held in by the PB seal as I mash around the edges, forming a sort of Uncrustable.

Crunchy peanut butter. Jiff or Peter Pan which ever one is on sale. On fresh bread drizzle with local honey 🍯. Oh and finish it off with a cold glass of milk 🥛

Brand of bread is relatively unimportant. TEXTURE is what

matters. It must be bread MADE to make decent sammiches. That means bright white, nice square slices, and none of those pesky big air holes that cheaper bread has. The GOOD quality sammich bread doesn't dry out nearly as quickly, either.
Siriusly, bread quality, AND availability have both gone way down ever since the pandemic, at least in Orangeburg. It is getting much harder to find true sammich quality bread, and even the slice cutters seem to be out of whack. Got a loaf last week that every other slice was skinny, and every other slice was about 1 1/2 times as thick as normal. And, a lot more burnt bread these days makes the stores, as well. Maybe the bakeries are trying to work from home?
Jif or Peter Pan SMOOTH peanut butter, I do one for awhile, then switch over. Keep that crunchy stuff away from me.
Welch's or Smuckers Jelly, same thing.
Also, Peanut butter and jelly in the same jar may have sounded good on paper, but on bread, it sucketh.
But, just like the s.ex, even a mediocre PB & J sammich is better than none at all.

bread with no jelly. The Smucker's Organic has low salt and basically no sugar so it tastes like peanuts. Delicious. The salty sweet stuff doesn't do it for me. It makes up about 75% of my lunches.
Like a great song, it never gets old.

Bread - fresh white PB - Jif Creamy J - stands for Jam in my case . . . Smuckers Red Plum or Seedless Red Raspberry . . . I likes the tartness.
Please, don’t put my jam or my p’nut butter in the frig . . . EVER.

Grew up on Peter Pan and Jif creamy PB , and Welch’s grape jelly. Would take 3-4 pb&j sandwiches to school for lunch every day. The Principal called my mom to tell her that was bad, and she should not let me eat so much for lunch.

I prefer PB & honey. When I make PBJ, it’s natural peanut butter Peter Pan or JIF mixed with Concord grape or strawberry preserves. I cut out bread because of Celiac disease. I ate some yesterday and I’m paying for it today. The bread is Sola sweet oat keto bread. It doesn’t have preservatives and low gluten. It’s very good bread!

and Wheat bread. I love PBJs with OJ. Weird combo, but somehow works.
Wheat also helps hold everything together when I make the PB, honey, cheese (havarti or something kinda neutral--can leave it out of this as well), and banana sandwich and press it on the flattop. Sort of an Elvis, but not quite...
I'd like a "healthier" PB, but the weird oily ones just don't hold up or taste as good as Jif.
