My primary reason is that it won't be genuine. The obligatory always seemed worthless. Like when the typical Karen holds up the line at Ingles because she is arguing with the cashier why she can't use her Aldi coupons. After that public fiasco is finally settled, the manager who was called over still finds a way to suppress his bile and give her a "Have A Nice Day" as she stalks out of the door.
I have learned alot observing these situations. But what I've learned the most is sometimes people do not know how to properly convey emotions and express that their feelings have been hurt. Even if that apology is completely unwarranted, it may be best for all parties to give it. Remember, a real man knows the proper time to be sensitive and understanding.
Thank you for allowing me to share my journey of personal growth, and please rest assured it will also transcend and encompass my life as a Clemson sports fan. Especially basketball.

I actually enjoy dispensing disingenuous apologies. Like, "I'm sorry you felt you had to share this with us", or "I apologize to all of you who expect better of me for responding to this pedantic treatise of a poast."
