I'll give it a shot.

Yes, I am a Georgia fan. For over a year I do my best to realize that I am a guest on this board and remain respectful and have been fairly successful at that. But, I am still a Dawg fan. I learn much more about who we are playing being here than reading the paper or surfing the internet. I try not to reply to posts that are only looking for an emotional response and also try not to comment on Clemson issues not related to the Georgia game.

You asked for comments on your video, here are mine:

You start off by saying “all these Georgia fans saying …” Please, please give me a link. I read as much as I usually and can other than the occasional smack talk I don’t hear this from Georgia fans especially on the board. Most are negative … What I call “Downer Dawgs”.

Both teams lost talent. Both teams have 4th year qbs starting. One has great stats against 2nd and 3rd teams and one has lesser stats and has started a few games. As first game starts go, not that bad … contrary to what Clemson fans are saying. Which are about the only ones criticizing him on a constant basis. I say toss up.

You are going to have a great D line. No one disputes that. But college football is not all that simple. "If" it was you would hear Georgia fans saying that our linebackers are going to shut down Clemson. I don't think that will happen. Both teams put 3 players on the 2014 Bednarik Award Watch List, so your comment on us only having one DE and one LB is not correct. I will give Clemson the leg up in depth in the defensive backfield. We had some talented guys kicked off the team. Would love to have that talent back, but glad to see the cancer gone. IF you come after Mason every play … Gurley will be gone. FACT. You will not stop Gurley you will have to try to contain him. Game planning is much more complex and situational. That's why I will never be (or never have) a football coach.

Cole is a good QB and he has his opportunity to be great this season. He will NOT be playing the second string of SC State in Athens on the 30th. There is no way to tell how he will do starting his first game in Athens. Just no way. It is a big task. Ask Mason who started his first start at GT … for the first half he struggled and then got his feet underneath him and won in double overtime. Now that takes composure. It takes a few games to get this starting thing under your belt. It will be a tough place for a first start. Talented yes … proven against 1st team defenses – no. By the way, you are correct about getting it into the playmakers hands, but who are those guys. All of yours graduated or left for NFL. Not saying you don’t have talent. You discounted all of our proven playmakers and are hopeful to find yours: Mason has Gurley, Marshall, Mitchell, Bennett, Conley, Rome … You discounted Georgia’s returning playmakers in you opening and are hoping that you have some emerge in game one in Athens.

Your running backs are deep … You are telling this to a Georgia fan base? This is probably the funniest part of the video. You have numbers … Someone will emerge and no doubt will be talented, but deep. lol

Preparing for two quarterbacks … Come on … Your depth chart was set because your savior was kicked off the team. No doubt your freshman QB is talented and has no game time snaps. He will and should play against Georgia because he is one play away from being the guy .. with no experience.

I wish I had the same confidence in my team as you do yours, but I have always tried not to get too excited and make predictions that are emotionally generated.

This will be a close hard fought game. All I can say is I am glad we are at home this year.

I was just messing w you. I think both of the analysis are pretty truthful.

It is all a matter of perspective and predicting how one thinks certain units will perform.

There is no right or wrong answer until the game is played.

Haha as a Clemson TIGER die hard, it simply looks like a game of strength vs strength, and weakness vs weakness. As a CLEMSON homer, I LOVE the talent that we've recruited and will put on the field, but I'm also a realist that follows it all, so I'm well aware of the talent that resides in Athens, too. UGA, on paper, has a higher rated roster from 1-85 per recruiting rankings. How that translates? I have no idea. I'm hoping, and putting faith in Mr. Stoudt to be the "plug-and-play" version of Bryce Petty...GO TIGERS!

Cancer - You have a program to be proud of ... school, team, & staff ... It is really heading in the right direction - and by that I mean they will compete year in and year out.

I have the utmost respect for CDS. He is focused on doing it the right way. The kids and school first ... then football. Doing the right thing is high on his list.

Did not watch the video. Just couple comments. CU does have playmakers. Not experienced playmakers. UGA has best running backs. CU has best line. Clemson should make the QB prove he can win the game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agree ...

Jul 19, 2014, 4:10 PM

Just like last year ... I would not make a call on this one. Would rather play CU than GT every year ... except we have better odds of beating Tech more often.

CU is on the right track ... building a program that can compete year in and year out ... Great coach + great school = harder to beat.

That I understand ... nothing wrong with that ... We always believe the best about our program. I have the utmost respect for Clemson ... I realize Georgia's weakness and we have some. I am sure Clemson will do it's best to expose the thin secondary. We have talent, but not much of it ... 4th quarter will separate the men from the boys.

Honestly I believe you strength in on D with a few questions (though not as much as UGA) in the secondary. Our strength will be on offense. Head to head ... will fall on HM. If we win, it will be him ...

Our LBs are good ... good enough to mitigate our weakness in the secondary. We will just have to wait and see.

Wish I had the gumption to do a video like that. I love my Dawgs, but could never do that.

i use to think that way, i use to do harsh and vulgar videos but the members on here and fellow clemson followers helped me in to tone it down, and just be more respectful with that..but i love it even with all the crazy comments i get

Last year we did not shut down Gurley, but it was

Jul 19, 2014, 4:15 PM [ in reply to I'll give it a shot. ]

the first game of the year. By the last game we were able to completely shut down Mike Davis of SCar. That will be an interesting part of the game on August 30th. Can Clemson shut down Gurley? We will see.

Never have understood your ID. One of the best Clemson fans I know pitched for The Citadel, but it makes me wonder if any of y'all are Citadel fans. I am not trying to be a smart a$$, but I was just curious.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ding, ding, ding, ding .... You are correct sir.

Jul 19, 2014, 4:24 PM

Grew up a Georgia fan. Starting going to games at age 9. I kid and tell people that if you went to The Citadel you have to pick another football team.

I was fortunate and was at The Citadel with Stump Mitchell - St. Louis Cardinals, Byron (Bones) Walker - Seattle Seahawks ... along with a couple that wound up in the newly founded USFL ... Was fun back in the day!

I'm a citadel fan, too! I went (only for knob year) and LOVED it there! Unfortunately, I I was not allowed to return due to breaking the honor code...personally, it was every bit MY mistake, but it helped me to see myself as an alcoholic, and I got some help...I'm forever grateful for my time in 3rd battalion as part of India company...that being said, I'll ALWAYS be a Clemson d@mn TIGER lol...GO TIGERS!

When where you there ...

Jul 19, 2014, 4:33 PM

Definitely not a place for someone with problems like that. It's like tying up a lion and then letting him loose on a meat locker for the weekend.

Glad you saw your vices and faced them head-on. Don't know, but bet it is not and never will be easy. I have faith in a man that can admit when he is broken.

CU v UGA used to be our rival in the 80's. Epic battle each

Jul 19, 2014, 4:05 PM

and every time with national significance garnering national attention. I recall it as a mutually respected, titanic battle. All in all was an ideal event for us and UGA(I assume.) I didn't look at that utube vid fwiw

Agreed ... it was emotionally driven and filmed with solid orange lens ... Not saying he was wrong on all of it, but everything Georgia stunk, and everything Clemson smelled of roses.

Re: CLEMSON VS. GEORGIA.....JUST WATCH AND COMMENT

Jul 19, 2014, 7:10 PM

Nice video Brazzy!!

I am ALL IN for CU (obviously that's my T-net handle), but I am also a realist.

This game is to close to call for a number of reasons.

1. We are playing IN Athens. A place we HAVE won in before, but still it's in Athens.

2. We are loaded at Running Back, but unlike last year, no front runner has stepped up....yet.

3. Cole Stoudt is (I firmly believe) a more than capable QB, but faces a daunting task against a very good defense and no doubt a hostile crowd.

4. Running backs!! Like it or not, Jawja has some proven studs who can pound the rock.

5. Our secondary?? Lord only knows how that will play out. My hope is the Alexander lives up to the hype and shuts down one complete side of the field.

This game will not be a run away by either team. No way! It's Clemson/Georgia! Not CU/SC State or GA/Savannah tech!!

Hide the women and the children. It's gonna be uggggly between the Hedges.

Can we get it done?? Absolutely!! Will it be a cakewalk either way?? Don't be a Coot and bet the trailor!!

Go Tigers!!!!!
