I have a hard time believing that a former Leggett assistant

Would seriously not take the Clemson job because he was fired. That just doesn't seem like something an adult would do and especially in the coaching world where people get fired all the time.
Corbin and Sully have no reasons to leave their jobs anyway. Corbin, especially, as he may have the absolute best job in the nation at Vandy.
I'm not suggesting we need to hire a Leggett guy, but I think it's foolish to say that they are all gonna boycott Clemson. Everyone understands the business.

I absolutely agree. I even believe Leggett would be proud if Clemson hired one of his guys.

Of course. I'd imagine that if the job were offered to a

former Leggett assistant, and that former assistant were interested, they'd pick up the phone and get Jack's input. I'm sure Jack would advise them with their best interest at heart. Jack may not be happy about getting canned, but I think he's a big enough man to put that aside for the sake of people he cares about. Now, if he thinks DRad is a total tool and leaving a good gig somewhere else to come to Clemson at this time would be a bad idea, I think he'd advise accordingly. However, if he still thinks Clemson is a great job for somebody, then he would give his blessing.

They wouldn't leave their jobs and that's it. Both are in a job dang good situation where they are at. Idjits trying to play it off as something else are wrong.
Let's also not forget the Michigan that they all trumpeting ,he has a losing record and wouldn't be considered.
That said ,if I were DRad, I'd make Sully tell me no.

I'd go for McDonnell first and go hard.

Then I'd make the courtesy call to Sully.
After that, I guess it would be Lee and Schlosnagle or whatever.
McDonnell would be my target.

I would think Leggett would give his blessing to any of his former players/coaches to continue his legacy.

Agreed. At the end of the day it comes down to what can one do that is right by his FAMILY! Not even sure why some people can't grasp that simple concept. Just because a former assistant may take the job doesn't mean he is any less loyal to Jack imo.

I can't picture Tim Corbin, Jim Schlossnagle or Kevin O’Sullivan being interested in the job. Right now, it would be a step DOWN. Money talks & stranger things have happened though.

do know something about human nature.
Your associates will offer regrets, hold your hand, even weep; yet, at the end of the day many will jump at the opportunity for your job, given the right circumstances.
The Clemson job is a prize....Clemson itself is a prize. Coaches across the nation know that, and many would be eager to receive a call. Some may deflect, but some won't. Just who will and won't is anybody's guess, for another lesson I've learned in my long life is to be cautious of saying, "Never."
Sabin at Bama, Holtz and Spurrier at South Carolina, Harbaugh at Michigan, even Urban Meyer at Ohio State come to mind, albeit all are football coaches. To me a coach is a coach is a coach, regardless of the sport, and all evidence that same human nature.
I also believe this: if Clemson has taken a bold step releasing a coach with Jack Leggett's resume, then a stellar hire along with a determined commitment to our baseball program are required. And that's on our AD and his staff. In fact it's on our entire University.
I prefer to remain confident while echoing that old refrain.............GO TIGERS!!!!
