Holy Covid

After playing a magnificent round today and leading the tournament by six shots, Jon Rahm was forced to withdraw because of a positive test. All three of our guys made the cut, but Lucas is the only one playing well He is at t18.

The way he was playing, they just took $1.6 Million out of his pocket. And, he was totally asymptomatic.

Agreed. You could see it all over his face. There’s plenty to say about it and none of its good.

He played #16 twice today- had a 1 and a 2. Amazing. I feel terrible for him.

Definitely a heartbreaker. Our guys are in it but again took a step backwards on moving day... Lucas and Kyle could have both made big jumps up with a few under par rounds. Argh. Maybe next week we'll get to see a Tiger on top.

If only.... If you test positive for the virus, CoV2, you are immediately diagnosed with the disease which the virus causes, Covid 19. Period. As an asymptomatic carrier of the virus he may, indeed, be able to transmit the virus, but he/she doesn't necessarily, and actually, have the disease. This was a second "positive" test for the virus, if I understand right, and he's immediately disqualified. However, they actually let him finish his round before they disqaulified him...?

The creator of the PCR test, for which he won a Nobel prize, said it is a terrible test for Covid. And if you understand how the test works and what they do you’ll realize that tons of people that test positive actually do not have Covid. And that doesn’t include the 1% of false positives. For every 1.5 million people tested, which is about what used to be tested on an average day, that’s 15,000 false positives! But science!

Blood was tested twice. Could still be a false positive, but he took the risk and was burned for it.

Why would they not simply allow him to distance on the course (not hard to do plus an outdoor environment) and iso off the course?

Wear a mask except when he is swinging the club. If he’s already been vaccinated then his viral load isn’t going to get high enough to be infectious. That’s what the CDC says is the science and why the vaccinated can go out in public without the mask. The PGA needed to adjust their protocol once the CDC made their updated recommendations. Rahm is getting screwed on this deal.

That assumes he’s been vaccinated

General consensus (though not known) is that he’s NOT vaccinated.
If he chose to not get the shot, Rahm was aware of the rules and risks. Then this result is his fault only.

You don’t need a mask outdoors. Playing golf the only person you need to be even close to is your caddy and they are around each other all the time. This is just more stupidity by people in positions of power that want to control everyone else. This is not logical and it’s not science. And we know for a fact that there are tons of people that test positive that actually don’t have it never had it.

The PGA has clear rules.
As a professional he has a clear idea of what the regulations mean and risk/reward for them. It is a private organization which decides what is appropriate for its members.
There is no debate to this.
So I am going to surmise you are a more conservative, law and order type individual who believes in following the laws set out.
You can't have it both ways. It absolutely sucks for him, BUT he chose his path.

disease yet. My neighbors just lost their 32 year old daughter-in-law, mother of two of their grandchildren, to this disease after she spent 30 days in ICU on and off the ventilator. Covid seems to affect everyone in slightly different ways, some mild, some fatal, some not at all. But make no mistake, the possibility of death from it is very real, still.

I think everyone should just live in a bubble the rest of their lives to protect others. But remember the good thing about Covid... it has totally eliminated influenza.

At worst, make the guy wear a mask on the course. He is outside with nobody around. Ridiculous to pull him out of the tournament with a 6-shot lead.

vaccinated yet, they will be complete idiots not to get vaccinated. Rahm likely cost himself 1.6 million for not taking a simple vaccination shot. Once you’re vaccinated you don’t have to get tested.

The NBA did not have a rule in regards to health during play. Jordan did not break any regulations.
The PGA/NBA/MLB/NFL/NHL all have specific rules governing their members of a private organization regarding COVID.
I appreciate you may not believe in COVID and what not. But do you want people to follow the rules or not? If you do cool, then He should be pulled. Antifa should be charged. Jan 6th should be charged. Etc
If you don't think he should be pulled, then you're just like every other liberal you speak against. I only want to follow the rules which i think should apply to me.

$1.6 MILLION dollars. That's what not being vacinnated cost

Jon Rahm when he was forced to withdraw with a 6 shot lead.
Had he played Sunday, he could have shot 77 and still would have won by a shot.
