With Brian Kelly’s attitude, lack of big game success, and his relationships with those he has worked with and many former players of his celebrating his firing, why would any school want him ? Maybe he is hired out of desperation. Why keep recycling a Head Coach who probably may be an adequate coordinator or a position coach.
And if I am Dabo, no matter what happens, Clemson would be my last stop.

What program has Dabo ever built? He inherited a solid program. It took him 6 years to have a good year. Florida ain't going for that. He had us where every program aspires to be and then he couldn't maintain it. I personally don't see Dabo being a good coach in the sec.
A steady decline over 5 years... I doubt an instant sec would settle for that. Hey, just keeping it real.

Lol a solid program???? ########## was a thing or did you forget that?
Clemson football seasons were successful with 8 wins, a bowl appearance, and a win over the chickens. Yall wanna fire Dabo now bc the expectations are undefeated and at the least playoffs or bust.

We define "good" differently. Dabo's third season was his first good season at 10-4. In his first full season he was 9-5. His 7th he lost to Bama in the national championship a great season at 14-1. That being said I agree, he isn't a program builder. Clemson under Bowden were always clemson**g. He ended that within 2 seasons.

That is an unfair assessment about Dabo and what he has accomplished. I will grant you that Dabo inherited a solid foundation from Tommy Bowden. And I will say the same for Danny Ford. He to inherited a solid foundation that really started with Red Parker. The continued with Charlie Pell.
But Dabo took the program to its highest level in the History of Clemson Football. He Had won 10 or more games in the last 13 out of 14 1/2 seasons. During 3 of those seasons he has a record of 14-1 and Clemson is the first program to go 15-0. Dabo lead Clemson to 4 consecutive National Championship games, Winning 2 National Championships. We have played in the CFP’s 5 seasons. Out of his 17 and a half full seasons he has 2 9 win seasons and 1 season in 2010 where Clemson’s record was 6-7. We lost the BG. I could continue with more accomplishments but if fans believe his success is due to past HC’s you are are nuts.
Dabo brought 2 once in a generation talented QB’s and multiple WR’s still playing or played in the NFL. All of this competing against Saban’s Alabama, Urban Meyer’s OSU, ND, Louisville and other talented programs. Money has changed the game. I can remember a time when fans would have been happy with a 10 win season and maybe 1 more NC. But we played for 4 straight NC’s . We have 2 more to add to Danny Ford’s National Championship.
ESPN. Herby , and others with all of the hype did Dabo no favors with all the hype about Clemson for this upcoming season. Because of several reasons this year Clemson has struggled. But after all of the past success it’s disappointing to see Clemson fans act like SC fans. Especially when our fans empty the stadium during or after the 3rd quarter.
Many once Elite teams are trying to get back to winning seasons. This may or may not be Dabo’s first losing season. Clemson had several games left. If you look at the schools in the top tier now it’s the money schools OSU, Bama and UGA. The future of college football is going to be about who can bring in the most 💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰.
Money and Greed has destroyed college football. I believe pay for play, free agency like football is going to create room for more 2 and 3 loss teams in the CFP’s. Those responsible for expansion of the CFP’s knew what they were doing when they added 8 more teams, Money !!! How else could they keep fan interest in 3 and 4 loss teams.
But to say Dabo has not lead Clemson to its greatest success is BS 🐅🐅🐅🐅🏆🏆.
I were Dabo I would walk away from Clemson after this season and not look back after the breathe has received this year. I am sure he , Jeff Scott and Jeff’s partner can do quite well financially. And without all of the chaos and BS that college football is now.

That was a ridiculous statement. Look at Tommy Bowden’s record at Clemson. We were 3-5 in Bowl games. We averaged 7.66 wins per season in his nine full seasons. We were 3-3 when he got fired. We were mediocre at best.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Bowden
Now, compare compare that to what Dabo did. He was 4-3 in 2008 after Bowden was fired. He then was 9-5, 6-7, and 10-4. After the 10-4 record in 2011, and 11 consecutive seasons with no fewer than 10 wins.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dabo_Swinney
To suggest he has never built a program is simply not true. The best option would be to simply admit you made a really dumb statement. Apologizing is not a weakness. However, I don’t think you’re gonna do that.

You my friend are stupid wrong, he inherited a horrible program with no direction, no facilities, and no support from the Administration. He had a vision, stuck to it and built a program that others were very envious of, go back and take a look at who came to see what he was doing just to see what made us so special to recruits and other people. Urban Meyer even said he had no idea what we had until he called our games a few times, now he knows. Dabo will either fix us or walk away. He will not compromise his beliefs or direction of the program for ( fans) like you, no matter what your opinion is.He has earned every right to do that! Go Tigers ALL IN ALL THE TIME.

Careful Gal, some struggle with the truth .. this “collapse” is due to Dabo’s stubbornness to adapt to todays game and hiring inexperienced friends and family to ride his gravy train …while your post is 100% spot on .. his “cult” following ain’t gonna like it .. the truth sometimes does hurt I guess …

Interestingly, you're judging a "good" year by Dabo's standards and not by

pre-Dabo standards. He hit 10 wins in his third season and then had 12 in a row. The Tigers had only had 1 10-win season in the previous decade.
So - yes - maybe it took 6 years to have a good year by his standards - but definitely not by the previous decade's standards.
That said - in this new era - I don't see Dabo as a hot commodity at any "top" schools.

Why would any program with national championship aspirations want Dabo in 2025?

Honestly, and I’m not trying to be mean, but in the NIL/transfer portal era, he hasn’t shown an ability to field an elite team - not mention an elite program.
Dabo has accomplished an incredible amount. Great coach, great guy, great leader. But his elite level success came at a different time. What he did then clearly doesn’t work now, and he doesn’t have the answer to how to fix it. If he did, we wouldn’t be on a five year slide and having the issues we are right now.
I am not at all worried about LSU or Florida or any big program coming after Dabo. I’m much more worried about Dabo getting the job done at Clemson.

very good post. While Dabo has done Hall of Fame deeds at Clemson that was before the current NIL/transfer portal era. Until he can show that he can sustain the previous level of success under these conditions, just dont see him as a viable candidate with the top level programs. Plus, he is a very spiritual coach and while that still may be a good fit at Clemson, it will not be at many other places.

You’ve got to realize if this was 8-10 years ago then yes. The college football game has dramatically changed. Dabo would have to use the portal at Florida or anywhere for that matter to be successful. He hasn’t here (where the competition is wayyyy less than the SEC) and we haven’t had success the last 3-5 years.
It’s quite simple.
Also if Clemson played in the SEC we wouldn’t be winning 9/10 games like we have been. We don’t win a conference championship last year that Dabo hangs his hat on.
I’m not trying to be mean. It is what it is.

Dabo gets all the credit in the world for getting Clemson to where it was, but let’s face reality here. His approach worked great for that particular era of college football when having great facilities and the ability to impress mama really mattered.
Nobody cares about a slide or great weight room or graduating when another school can just wave a few zeroes in your face.
Dabo is no longer an elite coach with these changes.
He would have to change his entire persona to excel in this climate and it just isn’t going to happen.
Florida would look much the same as it does now with a few more sweeney’s on the payroll.
