We’ve beaten Troy, UNC, and BC. Is it true that Clemson fans are blind to how crappy our opponents are?

No they are just looking for any sliver of hope. Especially after any win Clemson gets.

Especially since the coach has won two Nattis. That adds to the twist.

What are the chances of this team going 9-4?

Zero.
I want this team to turn it around and win out and silence alot of the doubters. But they are not good. There is only 1 guaranteed win left. I'm leaning optimistic they find another, but even getting bowl eligible right now seems a long, long way off.

Spiller and Boulware have been liabilities on the recruiting trail, although Spiller has done a decent job developing our backs, not so much for Boulware. I'd start there. Riley does not have the Oline to run his system, and that has most likely to do with Thomas Austin missing on, count them, 24 recruits at O-line, leaving us what we have. Matt Luke has made improvements here. Give our QB's an extra 1/2 second to throw when there is a pass rush and we are gashing defenses. We are also not getting any push in the running game, which is sad considering how much production we returned.
Those calling for Riley's head do not know what they are talking about. Either we play a vanilla scheme, or we are asking too much out of our Oline, which was the case against SMU. BC and UNC did not have the speed at the end to exploit our obvious weaknesses up front. FSU and Duke will. Louisville is god awful on the Dline, but they will kill us with big plays on offense. I am not sure what is going on defense; the effort has not been there, and we have had far too many busts in the secondary, which likely has less to do with Mike Reed and more to do with playing more Zone coverage under Allen. He should capitalize on what we have, hopefully, we play more man coverage moving forward.

Riley has always had a weak O and wasn't even impressive at TCU. Its simple. He was the worst hire.

You can hire whoever you want but until dabo gives full control to the coordinator and allow him to hire who they want you going to get same result

Do you think it’s all Clemson’s fault and the coaching staff as well for Miss on so many recruits. I find that hard to believe. I never happened until NIL became the standard.
Saban has brought it up several times about the damage NIL has done to college athletics. I wonder how many recruits we lost because of money 💰💰💰💰💰💰. I can’t see Dabo being able recruit at an elite level then going brain dead when it comes to recruiting and coaching. NIL had to have played a roll in at least 50% of our recruiting loses !!!
Before Sabin announced his retirement after his last game he talked about players and recruits asking about how much money they were going to make the next year. After Terri Saban’s experience with a bunch of greedy moms who continued to bring up money during the recruiting visit to Bama and the Saban’s house for breakfast. Exit Nick Saban.
It was not to long after that recruiting visit that Saban announced his retirement.
I honestly believe Dabo’s love for Clemson and not wanting to leave a program he built in chaos are the reasons he is putting his heart and soul into Clemson. It has to be even more difficult when fans have turned on Dabo so quickly and so many spiteful comments directed at Dabo and his ability as a coach.
Gotta admire Dabo for trying to get the train back on the uphill track 🐅🐅🐅👍👍👍

Period.
We all want him to but if doesn't want to adapt, fine. But he should be held accountable for the product on the field as well.

until after the season and changes are made. I think we are standing at a crossroads. Straight ahead is status quo, another average to bad season. Right or left, there will be bumps in the road.
I'm thinking it isn't going to be pretty for another 1-2 years. There is a lot of work to be done and recruiting has fallen lately.
I think he might be able to pull it off with a lot of portal talent AND a complete adjustment in competition for PT.

Boukware ?? Is this not his first year as a coach? He was just an analyst last year? So one of the top L B’s ever at Clemson and the best running back or at least top 2 are liabilities on the recruiting trail? The only liability as see for recruiting is money. Everybody spending the money!!

I think it's inevitable that someone gets fired at this point, even if we go 9-4 by some miracle. 6 games into the year and this team is barely playing FBS level football most of the time.

If only one or two assistants are let go at seasons end, not much will look different next season .
This is too big a disaster of a season to not have the majority of the staff turned over.

Yup, major overhaul needs to happen and I don't mean the coordinators. This goes down to the bloat of staff we have and assistants that aren't pulling their weight. Granted I think Riley gets let go regardless.

I agree that's exactly what needs to happen. But this isn't even about this year. Dabo brags about our winning. Yes, we've had good overall records the last 5 years but we really haven't beaten a good team.
Peeps on here will say we beat a smu playoff team last year. But smu really wasn't a good team. So the next we beat a mediocre Iowa St team. We beat ND in 2023 but they weren't that good in 23.
Yeah, we've won a couple acc championships and had 9 and 10 win seasons but the bottom line is we haven't beaten a quality opponent since Trevor Lawrence walked out the door.
We've been a good team in a crappy conference to bloat our record. The only thing that's happened is we've continued to get worse every year. So I totally agree, major overhaul and a philosophy change.

Kindly provide your definition of good team. You provide one example without context. Ranked? Playoff? Or is just SEC teams that are “good”?

It will be a struggle to get to any bowl .. we’re out coached no matter who we play, too many friends and family on the gravy train .. we’ve regressed to the point of a bottom tier ACC team …

Pressure has built since. Tension has built since. More Time has solidified Clemson’s problems.
It’s different because it’s 2 whole years later and things are worse.
