Id rather be 4-4 than 6-2

If we have another 10 win season (ACC champ appearance/win) or maybe go 9-3 that’s still good. That’s enough to make a good bowl game, possibly the playoffs, be ranked top 15 and keep some fans happy and coaches safe. Likely spurring no change. However, with the dumpster fire we’re in now all eyes are on us and the heat on Dabo is cranked to high. He knows we gotta make changes and I trust this off-season that drastic changes will be made.
People knock Dabo for being “prideful” no he just believes his way works. And it has for the last 12 years. But he’s prideful enough to not be a loser and he hates losing. He will do what we need to. I’ve checked out for this season and I’m not even angry about losses now. We’re a avg team that just can’t afford to make the mistakes we’re making. Heads up boys. I look forward to seeing what comes of this season.

When we were great we proved that we could beat anyone outside the ACC. When we were not so great (previous two years) we needed a soft schedule to be a ten win/bowl team. Now we’re stinking it up bad enough to prove that Dabo’s way isn’t working (whether you agree with it or not).

The game changed; he didn’t. Now he has to decide if he can set his ego aside and do what is needed. He turned it all around once and he can do it again. But he will have to adapt and change.

I just think his hires have been just terrible. Had he made competent staffing decisions, this entire conversation is largely moot. Now moving forward, yes, adapting to the new college football landscape will be paramount.

I wish he didn’t have to adapt and change. I’ve always supported and defended Dabo- but this isn’t fun anymore. It was easier to accept going 3-8 when we had Mal Lawyer and Brian Wofford at WR (no offense to them) or a starting RB who was selling pot out of Mauldin Hall- but it’s hard watching these can’t miss prospects fail against average teams.

Well, I’d still rather have 10 wins, but your point is right, Dabo WILL make changes at the end of season no tater what he said last week or ta today. Just like he did with streeter even though every week he said thing were fine last year. You can guarantee Austin and Grisham are gone at the end of season.

He will change when he HAS to, up to now he could justify his way. Now he knows he has to make changes.

I personally would rather be 6-2 cause then minor tweaks could be made but I wholeheartedly agree with you because we’re no 6-2

It will be interesting and entertaining to watch.
I steadily recall that Alabama was 50/50 for two years around 1970 then got back into national title form. Alabama did it with Bryant … Clemson will do it with Swinney.

Agreed. If it means getting better quicker and saving years of a rebuild, would rather do it this year since it’s a lost season. I’ve been telling people on here for a while, changes were coming. Hoping this speeds up the process.
What must be done eventually, should be done immediately…

There will most likely be a lot of changes made. That being said, changes don’t necessarily guarantee immediate improvement (see this year’s offense for an example).

This doesn't make sense. I stopped reading after that:
"Id rather be 4-4 than 6-2 If we have another 10 win season (ACC champ appearance/win) or maybe go 9-3 that’s still good."

Referring to the avg fan and media outlets, and Dabo for that matter. He’s hung his hat on those “10 win seasons” for a while now. I’m not a championship or bust fan but we have enough talent to be a perennial playoff team and I do expect that much.
