What would any OC in the nation do with Stoudt as QB in FBS?

Nov 15, 2014, 6:19 PM

What offense could you possibly run where you can't throw the football across the LOS without fear of it being picked? Stoudt isn't a pocket passer or dual threat. What offense could you run without the 1990's Cowboys OL sitting front of him?

Chad lost Morgan Roberts and Chad Kelly was a hot head that had to be let go. Both were obviously better players than Stoudt.

The only fault I put on Dabo/Morris is that there is no conceivable way that Stoudt was the best QB. There is no excuse for what Kelly did, but THAT is probably why he lost it. Watson should have started from Day 1.

I think it is fair to say Stoudt probably wouldn't start at most FCS schools. That's FCS, not FBS. That's not bashing, that is what it is. No FBS OC can overcome a QB with limited physical ability and such football mental incompetence and ineptness.

I'd bench him

But he's stubborn.

In all fairness, I think Stoudt would do fine if we had a coordinator or coaching staff that can design safe passes.

But we don't have any of those.

Morris has tons of safe passes in the playbook. The jet sweep, all those bubble screens and short slants. Once you start getting out past 7-10 yards, they are no longer considered safe passes because a QB has to read a defense and the basic high school level. Cole hasn't been able to do that.

I agree. It was Chads conservative gameplan that allowed is to win the previous 4 with stoudt at qb

Nothing. I doubt most OC's would have even bothered recruiting him. As evidence by his total of 3 big 5 scholly offers ( Us, Az St, Colorado ).

Don't know about that. Morris is a horrible play caller.

But, I do think Clemson should play a different QB, too.
