I would like to recognize Alex Hemenway

Dec 14, 2021, 10:38 PM

who has worked his tail off to earn more minutes recently. He has practiced really well, and it shows.

And that jumper! A thing of beauty! Tonight he was 3-3 from behind the arc, scoring 17 points total. Against Drake, he was 4-6 on threes, scoring 12 points. He is shooting a blistering 55% on threes this season.

In addition to his shooting, he has learned to play hard while still playing smart with his high basketball IQ. He regularly makes the extra pass, or gets a key steal or rebound. When we have needed big plays recently, he has made them.

I feel that he is a big key to our improved performance these last couple of games, and I’m excited to see him get more minutes moving forward.

Iv been excited about Alex since he got to Clemson but I feel like he would get benched a lot early and not play as much based on defensive skills lacking in BB’s eyes… and I could be way off there but you could always tell he was a shooter but shooters need to shoot and get in rhythm and don’t feel like he’s ever really gotten that chance… hopefully he becomes a main part of this team bc he’s a guy that can string a bunch of 3s together which is huge for this team to be able to rely on a pure shooter

The Coots are a lot better than both Drake and miamiOH so let's hope he can play reall well in tougher competetion..hope the light has come on finally. He was a little too passive in the first few games..

Going to be a fun matchup. Tigers need to be patient with Frank's d and use the aggressiveness against them.

Keep in mind oneClemson that Hemenway was out his freshman year with an ankle injury suffered in the first couple games. Last year he was fighting minutes.

Anyway, hopefully he's earned his minutes. Good shoutout Judge. He deserves it. Confidence is a wonderful thing.

Collins is finding his groove as well. Couple of double-doubles recently and 14 and 8 tonight. Also 6 assists and just one TO.

We've dug ourselves a hole with the late game struggles. But this team has talent. Best shooting team by far Brad has had. We can score. Need minimum 2 of these next 3. 9-5 isn't an ideal Nov-Dec, but we have a chance to string some things together in 2022.

Just get past these late game struggles. Did so tonight

I like collins except his ft shooting. He goes in to draw a foul and you can expect him to make one out of two. That can be a problem late in close games

Collins is shooting better from the free throw line recently.

The first 6 games this year, he was 11-24 from the line (46%).

The last 5 games, he was 19-29 from the line (66%).

Our coaching staff has worked with him on his shooting form. He’s getting into a more comfortable shooting rhythm as a result.

He’s not only shooting better on free throws, but also from behind the arc. That’s what good coaching and player development are all about!

Good thing we got that full size practice court so he can properly practice his free throws.

Looking good.

I would like to recognize Alex Hemenway for that DUNK last year against UNC. He had to drive past four 5 star recruits and 3 future NBA players. This might even have contributed to Roy planning retirement.
