watching season two of "last chance U"

AKA Auburn/ Louisville farm league documentary. The Head coach keeps bringing up Clemson as the season wears on, "We are going to run the offense like Clemson did in the NCG" etc... Then with the game on the line, coach calls a play and say this will definitely work, twas the pick play to Renfrow, but the receiver came up short on and they lost the game. Anyway, found all of that humorous.

I watched that show, by the end I was rooting for the other team to win every single game. That coach is a first class jerk and his players are all whiny little thugs.

Using the word ALL in that context is a bit much man. Not everyone at EMCC is a thug. I'll give you Isaiah Wright for sure, as proved by his recent arrest.
There's also quite a few players who seem to genuinely be rehabilited there, DeAndre Johnson, Dakota Allen, for example. Yes both did awful things to land them there, but they seem to have made the most of their 2nd chances.

but if you listen to them, and then listen to our players, there is a world of difference in college aptitude. I'm not saying that our guys are Rhodes Scholars, but it was clear why those players featured were in JUCO. Our players might not be majoring in Brain Chemistry, but at least they didn't need Brittney Wagners help to get to Remedial Reading Class on time.
There really wasn't a single player in season 2 that you wanted to root for.

I really liked Dakota Allen in season 2. He seemed like an intelligent and well spoken young man who got caught up in a bad situation.

I think they glossed over his story

wasn't it Armed Robbery and stole drugs (or guns)? I don't know if he was the ringleader or just drove the get away car, but it was a bit more than just "boys being boys" or smoking a little weed. I don't know his whole story though. He did come across as the one shining star in the season.
The UGA guy had a chance, but his momma ruined that for me. DeAndre Johnson came across as likable during the show, but I remembered too much about how it was handled at FSU.

The d lineman from penn st was a first class dip$hit. It's a wonder people like that even get into a school like penn st to begin with.

The next season is about a different JC but will once again be headlined with an FSU QB transfer.

Season 2 was recorded during the 2016 regular season, so it would have been before Renfrow's catch to win the championship game.
