He will adjust big and turn it around. I’m just trying to think of a coach who climbed that hill twice at one school? Name a coach who won it all… then relapsed and then worked at same school to do it again?

Got this from NCAA website:

Bill Snyder at Kansas State University took over KSU’s dismal program in 1988 (coming off a 27-game winless streak, historically one of college football’s worst). First turnaround (1989–2005): Built a powerhouse with 16 straight winning seasons, four 11-win years, two Big 12 titles (1999 Cotton/Fiesta, 2003 Tangerine), and 11 top-15 finishes. Had a Relapse (2004–2008): Slipped as low as 5-6 in 2005.
Second turnaround (2009–2018): Returned at 69, went 7-6 immediately, then hit 10-3 and 11-2 (2012 Big 12 champs)—back to elite with eight bowls in nine years.

No national title, but Snyder delivered KSU’s greatest success ever (215-117-1 record, over 80% of school’s all-time wins). He’s literally called the “2-Time Rebuilder” and “Architect of the Turnaround.”

I know he never won a Natty (though they did get close), but I think Bill Snyder is a top 10 coach in college sports for the build he pulled off at Kansas State. I can’t even call it a rebuild because they were never good before him

1979 and 1980 he went 11-0 and 10-1. Didn't win the national championship, was beaten by Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl both years. But he took an abysmal program over in 1976 and brought them higher than anyone dreamed possible.

1981-1986 he son 6-9-7-7-9-7 games. Against our two biggest rivalries (Miami and FL) he was 1-11.

In 1987 he started a streak which will never be duplicated. 14 straight seasons ranked in the top 4 in the country. They included 2 national championships.

It can be done. (Bear and Bobby did it.) But, it is rare.
