but for all the hype and criticism I have seen over the years on Lebron James....I think the guy is pretty classy. i read a little blurb this morning from Jordan on how he has detected a "flaw" in LJ's game. This comes on the heels of him saying he would take Kobe over LJ. If you ask me this shows a lot more about Jordans' character than anything else. Michael Jordan is an a**hole.

Greats say they don't mind being surpassed, but its their greatest fear.
LJ is young in his career and he has a CHANCE to pass MJ, albeit small. Kobe is at the end of his career and he isn't going to pass MJ

The level it is now there will never be a player with a skill set more elite than MJ but just as clutch as he was then you're right, he has no need to be threatened.
Heck wilt chamberlain could have done it if he could focus on the ball and not his balls.
LJ has a good chance of winning 3-5 more championships by the end of his career. If he gets to within one of MJ, the debate becomes perfectly valid IMO. And if you don't think MJs ego hates that you are crazy.

Amen,Amen,Amen. Lebron plays team ball as Magic did;he is not all about himself like Jordan and Kobe. That is why they don't anoint him. Jordan has proven himself on the court. He has also proven he doesn't understand the game by his bumbling as an NBA exec and owner. I will take LBJ.

That is a fact. Southern white sports fans care less about the NBA than sports fans in general. Do you disagree?
It would be racist if I said "Southern white people don't like the NBA as much because BLACK PEOPLE ARE STUPID!!!"

I absolutely do not care.
The league has been in steady decline since the likes of Julius Erving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, George Girvin, Kevin McHale, Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Clyde Drexler, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, David Robinson, Chris Mullen, and Patrick Ewing (among others) retired.

My point in that comment was that although most of the people around us (being in college football country) do not care, there is still a sizeable fan base for the NBA. It was an answer to your question "would anybody care?"

kind of "policed" itself. In other words kids had to really think long and hard before entering their name in the draft. I think it led to kids spending time on actually improving their game in college to get the shot at being drafted highly. Its a shame the way it is now.

The 1 year rule makes a total mockery out of the time spent in college. How the NCAA fails to see that is unbelievable.

that stated Major League Soccer had now surpassed both the NBA and the NHL in average attendance figures.
The NFL was first, followed by MLB, MLS, the NHL and the NBA
The current economic climate isn't the only reason NBA attendance figures (and TV ratings for that matter) have been on a downward spiral since 2006.

One of the reasons he was so great was because he wasn't nice. He did not, and still will not, tolerate someone beating him at something. He wouldn't be the greatest player of all time without that tenacity.

If we are talking about championships and winning why is bill russell not the best player ever with 11 rings. Jordan is the greatest player ever but lebron is definitely making a case. If you look at what lebron has accomplished its pretty amazing. People forget that he took a horrible cavs team to the finals. The bulls had more talent on their bench than the cavs did that year. Last year is a testament to what happens when teams are constructed like the great bulls, lakers, and heat teams....they win championships. Wheb kobe is on a bad team...his dont even make the playoffs and jordan was never on a bad team.

Jordan has a gambling problem, cheated on his wife, wears some ridiculous clothes and is the worst owner in the NBA. Yeah...
