Calling """Quarterbacks Draws""" with less than 4 minutes to play, when our best quarterback is limping on every play ?? - we are only running out the clock ( so why can't Vizz hand the ball off??) and not risk ending Cade's season ?? Cade took some very hard hits toward the end - just seemed so ""STUPID"" to me***** ___ and yes, I understand Cade wanted to ""FINISH THA' DEAL"" __ but that was a coaching decision*********

I agree! I would like to see us use our big backs to run out the clock and pick up 1st downs to end the game. It seemed like we were okay punting the ball back to FSU at the end of the game instead of us having the opportunity to get into Victory Formation.

Dabo should not run Cade. I saw him speak to Riley and I believe tell him to sit on the ball. He goes too conservative at end rather than trying to get another first down. Don’t misunderstand me I’m glad to get the win. Fl State fumbled through interception and dropped so many passes one for a TD certainly helped us win. We are far from being a good team.

Dabo is scared to death of beating someone “ too badly”! It seems the opponents don’t have that problem. He will sub or go ultra conservative in a heartbeat.. sometimes too soon!

When we were elite, we used to beat the crap out of just about everyone.
Dabo isn’t scared to beat someone badly, we just aren’t as good as we used to be so it’s harder to do.

When we were elite, we could run the ball better at the end of the game - getting 1st downs and TDs.

Agreed! Run the dang ball, and occasionally mix in a high percentage 5 yard pass to a TE (do we have these anymore??) to keep the chains moving!!! Lord have mercy!! It’s the killer mentality we are missing to end the game…. Nice win, but lots of improvement needed….

boar hogs primed and ready for action with the win!
Yet, I'm thinking Dabo figured he had the game in hand and opted for vanilla plays, rather than a look as if we wanted to run up the score. I do like a go-for-the-jugular approach with agressive play-calling until the fat sow squeals in delight, but then again, I ain't the coach.

I didn’t like the play calling either at the end or the entire 4th quarter but Clemson or Dabo or Riley considered the degree of difficulty in plays and went with the quarterback keeper because there is almost no chance of a turnover on that play call. It is just that simple.

The idea was to burn the clock, then sit on the ball, not to advance it.. There is a much less likely a chance for a turnover; the coaches were being extra cautious to secure the win. Vizzina taking his first snap in 2 weeks, maybe not a good idea, chance for a center QB exchange issue and turn the ball over. Again, coaches wanted this win badly, were taking no chances. Cade is feeling it today, dude is a warrior.

I’m with you. Heavy doses of Randall and Davidson. How about trying to wear a defense down. Not sure if we hit 100 last night. Very confused on a lot of things as of late.

I really liked what I saw from Davidson last night. More explosive that Randall. That isn’t too take anything away from Randall but this is not his natural position and he is still getting the feel for it.

Much agreed, feel like we were playing not to lose and that’s when you get beat. Still 7 minutes left, still got to keep trying to throw the ball. Seems like we went armadillo mode, just rolled up, and tried to hold onto the lead. Got to keep playing football and not just chew ####

Wow you stole my thoughts that is exactly what I was thinking last night towards the end of the game. Why not put in CV who played very well when Cade was hurt.

Dabo and Riley are kings at making the simple common sense stuff so look so difficult. The fact we could only get 1 yard on 3 carries is ridiculous as well. You could run a spread offense to clear the box some and pick up more on a run.

along with similarly dumb in-game choices by Dabo. Dabo is just plain awful as a game-flow manager, and I think stuff like this is a far bigger problem than anything related to the portal.

I agree too 🤔 Why would you call any play running you QB with an injured ankle ? When Cade scored I think he saw an opening as wide as a double garage door to the end zone. But to run him up the middle or even on a draw play was mind boggling. I thought if they had enough confidence in Cade’s running the ball, why not let him pass it or go with an RPO. Seems like the last 6 or 7 minutes of the 4th quarter our play calling became very conservative and cautious. The last 2 minutes I was totally confused by the plays Clemson called.
Maybe Dabo really wanted this win so much. After the Duke Game I may have called a cautious last several minutes of 4th quarter too.
The officials seemed hesitant to throw too many flags on Clemson after sticking it to us in the Duke game. 😬🫣🧐🤔🤐 Expressions from Saturday's FSU game in DV lol 😂
