rosters he had his first few years when they made the playoffs?
Doesn't know how to manage a bullpen.
I was at the game on Sat vs. the Brewers and if it had gone to the top of the 12, and Avilan had of come out, we would have lost that game too.

A .500 season with this roster has been

unexpected but it does nothing to offset the job of Gonzalez with much better teams. I suppose you will probably just say players have to play so you can't blame Freddie for everything, but I will be surprised and disappointed if he is still managing when the new stadium opens. I was hoping he was gone after last year.

a ton of Braves fan would be thrilled to see him take his brand of decency somewhere else. He is pretty much a career .500 manager.

he is a .500 manager at best. Matter of fact, I would contribute a lot of this lineups success to bringing in Kevin Seitzer as hitting coach. The team (with a worse roster mind you) is hitting the ball better than they did last year. That leads to more runs. Unless your manager keeps giving Freddie Freeman the steal sign. Freddie is one of the best 1st basement in baseball, but he ain't a base stealer. That's just bad baseball management.

I played baseball from the time I was 5 until I was 18.

Had a chance to walk on in college, all be it a small school in Limestone, but it wasn't to be because I had a broken vertebrae on my spine. L5/S1 was literally broken off of my spine. Cut my senior season short too. Dr's recommended it best not to play with that kind of injury and even after surgery still probably not the best of ideas. So a spinal fusion surgery later, the most baseball playing I get to do these days is with the 6 year old in the yard.
So yeah, there's your answer to your cup question. You got anything else chief?

playing ball. I just had awful back pain when I got to high school and started doing so much activity. Turns out the Dr said he thinks I did it when I was about 10 years old so I had gone that long with the injury and he was amazed that I could some days even stand much less play sports and do everything I was involved with in high school.
It kind of was a blessing in disguise though. One of those everything happens for a reason type of things because if I had of walked on, baseball in college would have been my life, and would have literally had time for nothing else. So I had extra time to spend volunteering at local boys and girls clubs, helping out different coaches at my high school with whatever it may be. In doing this it gave me the chance to meet my wife and lead to the two beautiful kids we have today.

NOT A FREDDIE FAN ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. JUST THINK THAT THE COACH GETS TO MUCH BLAME IN "MOST" CASES.

The fact that this team is at .500 right now I don't think ANYBODY with any kind of baseball knowledge would have predicted that. And if we blame the manager for poor decision making he has to be given credit where it's due. He has had a hand in that. If he can ever figure out how to line 'em up 1-9 on a consistent basis, he would be much better than a .500 manager. I want him to succeed, I mean I really do, he worked under Cox, so that means he's one of the family. If he takes that team this year and finishes anywhere close to .500, I will toot the Freddi Gonzalez horn louder than anybody else.

Fredi is an ok manager, but then again, a lot of MLB managers aren't anything special. They are all stuck on "tradition" for their decision making, and constantly do things that hurt them out of fear of being called out.
Fredi at least doesn't appear to me to have the strange fetish for useless, utility players (Keith Lockhart and Pete Orr come to mind) ) that Cox did. Never understood how a guy who sucks at multiple positions is worth anything, but I guess "hustle" makes up for it.
McDowell is an amazing coach, though. The track record proves it, and whoever turned Shelby Miller around needs to be paid more money. I thought the Heyward/Miller trade was a bad idea when it was announced, and it's turned out great so far. Loved the trades with Padres and Astros.
