I am not an old fart like most of you, but I certainly enjoyed watching these oldies for the first time on this rainy weekend:
Smokey and the Bandit Psycho The Birds

and "Smokey andthe Bandit was wildly popular when I was 17-18 ... but I've never seen it. Always thought it was stupid, and never had any interest in it. And don't get me wrong, stupid can be great if it's done right, but in my eyes, the whole CB/trucker craze from that era was absurd silliness aimed at dumb rednecks that was neither funny or ineresting to me in the least.

I love Hitch movies but that is one of my least favorite. Now North by Northwest, Vertigo, and Rear Window are some of his best

Bingo! It’s Jackie Gleason that makes that movie go.

Now you gotta watch the series Bates Motel, which is a prequel to Psycho.

I remember watching The Birds as a small child and having nightmares. That is the only movie that ever did that.

What fueled my first bone-chilling nightmares was Jaws and The Amityville Horror.

The Birds made much more of an impression on me than Jaws. If you don't want to mess with a shark you just don't go out any farther than where you can still see your feet. But birds can follow you and suddenly show up in great numbers...

I was 11 when I saw "The Birds". My bedroom was a converted sun room with windows on 3 sides. I didn't get much sleep for 3 or 4 nights. I haven't watched it all the way through since then.

rewatched the smokey flicks...they will do for "fall asleep to" movies. The best thing about older movies of that generation is the lack of political correctness. It so refreshing to watch a movie or show without that bulltard stuff injected into it

He should have received an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, but sadly the Academy has never recognized the contributions of canines.
