I want to say something to any Clemson students, especially

those that are juniors and seniors. Soon you will be pursuing jobs as you will be graduating. If one of those job offers that you receive is in Columbia I just want to say think long and hard before you take it. Now don't get me wrong, if it's the only one you have, well, you got to do what you got to do. But otherwise, I would advise you to think about alternate locations. I'm serious. You might think, "Oh it's not that bad down there", but let me tell you, if you really love Clemson, which I suspect you all do, and you really don't like S.Carolina, which I would hope is the case, it can be that bad down here.
Just something for you Clemson students to think about. Now cheer like he!! at the game today!

I've worked in Columbia before....got some rough areas but didn't hate it

....nothing more than a place to stop and use the bathroom on the way to Charleston.
I always said Columbia is the last place on earth I'd ever live.
Lo and behold, God puts a beautiful girl from Lexington in my life, we get married and settle down.... where else but Lexington! Lexington is a far cry from Columbia though, decent people & a good many Clemson fans & alumni. But still close enough to Columbia that you have to put up with the general USC mentality. But it's been 22 years now & I've learned to deal with it.
I've also worked in downtown Columbia those 22 years, and I can say there is one decent thing to see in downtown Columbia.... and that's the city in your rear view mirror at 5 PM!
But I agree with you.... unless you have some reason to move to the Columbia area, such as no other job offers or family in the area, settle down in the Upstate, Charleston, or some other decent place!
