I totally get the frustration with Dabo

I’m beyond frustrated but I’m hoping he’ll make radical changes to bring us back. But…

Let’s say he realizes that the game has passed him by and retires. Many on here would be happy but I would not. Because I can’t answer my own questions.

Give me your top 2 coaches that meet this criteria.

1. Could coach in the portal environment. Develop players.
2. Truly have a realistic shot at getting us back to the top.
3. Clemson could afford.
4. Would leave where they are and come to Clemson.
5 Would fit the culture and not embarrass us.

He’d definitely be on my list. Can’t believe the coots picked Beamer over Chadwell.
He’d be a great fit.

Clemson can afford any coach in the country. It’s idiotic to think otherwise.

Im not ready to get rid of CDS, but I do think there would be many options to consider if he retires or leaves……. Clemson is still an incredible brand, top notch destination for a coach, so some young hungry coach looking to make his name, or an established coach looking for that next step up would surely come and take a chance to make their name at a program like Clemson

I agree with you in theory but it’s hard to come up with names. Personally, that’s why unless he retires, I would stick with Dabo and just make him fix it. They may not know it, but Penn State has a massive problem on their hands right now. I’m not a fan of James Franklin, but I think they were dumb to fire him midseason. They’re going to be set back a couple years at least. If not a decade.

How are you going to make Dabo fix it?

If he knew how to fix it, he would have fixed it by now - or at least be on his way to fixing it.

But he isn’t. We are going the wrong way.

Elliot makes sense but I’d be a no on Key. Just my opinion. Just don’t like him.

Kenny Dillingham at Arizona State would be a great replacement . He is only 35 years old. Still young and hungry to achieve great heights.

No to Elliott. Actually I guess it is ok as long as he is not calling plays.

I don’t want to pay Dabo to do nothing (that’s what firing him will do) or pay someone else to clean up his mess.

Hand Dabo a broom and a mop and tell him to get his ### to work!

Hate to see dabo go but it has to happen. He has no fire and the snake oil program he sells to kids is no longer being bought. He has to go. The entire program is in a shambles. And he doesn’t even think anything is wrong.

I think he knows things are wrong. It’s obvious, it shows on the field. I think the results of this year, shocked everyone. The media, the fans, the players and Dabo.

He knows that we have problems. He admitted that after the Syracuse game as well as SMU post-game.

The 10+ minute rant about past achievements earlier in the year should’ve never happened. Not sure if he was stressed or trying to fire up the team, but deep down he knows there are issues. That’s why he’s made changes with the offensive and defensive coaching staffs the past few years… unfortunately those changes haven’t worked out yet - he may need to look deeper.

He definitely cares. He was practically in tears after the Syracuse debacle when he was locked arm-in-arm with the team and signing the Alma Mater.

Dabo’s problem is his pride and stubbornness. He thinks that Clemson is obligated to keep him because he won 2 Nat’l
Titles. He refuses to ADJUST to today’s college football. “Look at what I accomplished “ attitude. He is choosing to ignore
all the signs that are right in his face that his program is sinking. I’m totally convinced based upon his record the last
5 years that has regressed, especially the rapid slide this year to a woeful 3-4. I respect the job he has done, but there's
one problem: he is DONE. The slow decline has come to a crash. A new voice is needed in order for Clemson Football to
return to National prominence. Next season will be as bad or worse if he returns in 2026.

I could see Dabo hanging it up when Clay graduates because it, the college football world, isnt the gig he signed up for years ago. He will have had success and opportunities to do other things. The fun is in the winning and it doesn't look like he has much fun ahead in 25 and perhaps beyond without massive changes.

I agree. The only thing is, either way his family and friends are losing jobs. If he quits, they all lose their jobs and if he stays and wants to win, they’re all gonna lose their jobs or maybe he figures out a way for them to keep their jobs and us still win, but definitely if he leaves they all lose their jobs.

I’m still not getting any names. And that’s the point. Dabo has to fix this because there are not many great coaches out there.

I can give you one. Lea at Vandy but he's gonna get snatched up pretty quick in my opinion. I dont want Dabo gone either but if changes aren't made quick, fast and in a hurry my desires ain't gonna matter much. Unless significant progress is made next year he might not get many more chances.

No I didn't see that. I'll have to check it out. If Clemson ends up firing Dabo and has to cover that buy out I'd bet the hire is gonna be an assistant somewhere with a good recruiting track record anyway. Just hope we dont wind up in that situation.
