I thought the winners of the “play in” games

are seeded 16th. Is this not correct? I see bracket predictions in which some are placed as 11 or 12.

The first four now consists of 2 games

As of a few years ago there are now 2 games played between the first 4, and they consist of the 2 “lowest seeded” automatic bid teams who play for a 16th seed (against the top ranked #1 seed) and the 2 “lowest seeded” at-large teams who play for an 11 or 12 seed (depending on the year and strength of the field).

Probably should be, but that isn't the way they do it.

It’s the last two at-large and the lowest ranked AQs.

I’ve always thought it was unfair to include the 16 seed AQs. Should have always been 4 lowest at-large teams.
