CBB needed time, money, better players, Littlejohn upgrades, additional assistants, the portal, a new practice facility, fan support, and for football to be "down"... he now has all those things. Given the perfect storm we find ourselves in, I would think we are looking at an Elite 8/Sweet 16 type team. And before you even start making comparisons to our 2008 football team which finally had all the pieces in place to make a run under CTB, I don't think the pressure will be too great for CBB, he's the 2008 Horizon League Coach of the Year. I think we will see him, and this team, thrive. I've defended CBB for a while now, I'm not stopping now.
Buckle up Clemson Basketball fans, it's going to be a heck of a ride.

But we’ve seen that story before. And then the next two or three seasons will be absolute garbage… And they’re in lies the problem if he does have that elite eight/ sweet 16 season, he’s going to get a big fat contract. And then what’s going to happen the next year or four years are we going to sustain success or are we going to fall back to the middle of the bottom of the ACC.

Have you noticed that brownell's best class are sophomores this year? Did you know he has th 17th incoming recruiting class which includes on of the top rated players we have ever signed? Did you know that brownell has shown a great ability to pull In talent from the portal.
It's almost like half of the tigernet commenters dont even watch our team.

brownell has some things to prove this season, mainly that he cant screw things up when they look pretty good. But we can stop with the doom and gloom predictions for the next three years, that is a bit much.

channels Tommy Bowden and coaches better whenever the storm clouds gather, or the contract is about to be up for renewal. "Bowdening" and Brownelling" sound, and look pretty similar to me.
This is a good basketball team this year. Hopefully they can overcome their coach and do well in the postseason.
And for those who want to toss incendiary bombs my way, I was a Brownell supporter for over ten years. He constantly disappointed me, with his performance never really taking Clemson to new heights, even as the competition in the ACC became historically easier. Right now the ACC is at an all time low. If we are ever going to win it, this would be the year. What, in actuality, will we do?

Agree with this 76er. Though I feel this year will be his best, he is comparable to Tommy Bowden in football. I remember losing to Weak Florist and Puke in football and we have that with Brownell with losses like last year and other times under Brownell. However, I am a fan of this team and 14 used to be my favorite number sooooooo……….

It's a shame we have homers who ignore the glut of bad seasons, and ignore the players who transferred out with criticisms against Brad, and ignore the coach who left with criticisms against Brad. See what Dabo did, he fired Thomas Austin and Brandon Streeter, two loyal Clemson guys. Know why? They weren't performing. Our football program would have zero natties if Dabo ignored his coaches' whole body of work, and let bad performers slide year after year after year after year. Brad should have been fired about 6 years ago.

His changes for the better occurred when Dabo begin to help him with decisions and vision.
Dabo won’t take credit but we all know Dabo helped with assistant coaches and the idea of going after the Syracuse point guard.

Do you actually think Neff has to think twice about taking money from basketball to give to football? It's not Brad's choice. See how many new great coaches he's hired in other sports, but doesn't want to splurge on a good men's basketball coach, instead being happy with a once every 6 years good season from Brad.

The once in a decade good season that nets Brad another 20 yr extension. I'm pretty sure his family will be paid for about 30 yrs after his death. Personally, I'd prefer to not have posts like this because we have a good coach, backed by an awesome alumni, putting out good seasons consistently.
