He is now openly discussing the possibility of emptying the staff room as it appears. However, I believe that Tom Allen needs to be given another season to get things right on the defensive side of the ball, and I believe we need to first get a glimpse of Matt Luke's recruits before issuing a final verdict. Ben Boulware was personally trained by Coach Venables to become a LB Coach. I say give him another shot as well. However, everyone else needs to take a hike and that includes the MOST important group of coaches and that would be the DEVELOPMENT staff.

I think Allen should be the first to go. I know the secondary was questionable

coming into the season but the DL and LB position should be much better than they are playing. Heck they were better under Goodwin.

I still think Allen should get the opportunity to hire his own assistants before pitching him overboard. The deficiencies you note are coached by people he was forced to keep on staff.

Retain Luke and Cut everyone else loose. Bring in experienced coaches who can develop talent and who can teach x&o and can make in game adjustments. Play the best players and use the portal to fill gaps. Hire top D2 coaches if necessary. Clemson is a slow, soft, undeveloped team. Drastic changes must be made. Not window dressing.

SEMI-AGREE General. Best thing to do at this point is go ahead and throw the baby out with the bath water and worry about getting a new baby later. Put a padlock on the building where the 100 staffers and assistants hang out and mail them all pink slips, even if they are family & friends. This thing has become so bloated and over-staffed, it will never recover as it is. Start over with experienced, motivated people who are directed to win football games, not run a rehab center.

That PI at the end was horse ####, but it should never have come down to that. Dabo got the gig because Bowden seemed content getting paid for mediocrity. I feel like Dabo is turning into that. Kind of like how boxers train their ##### off when they are fighting for a title shot, then get complacent when they have money and the title and never recapture their best days. He’s only as good as the staff and talent. Saban turned over coaches annually but replaced them with the best available. Our coaching hasn’t been up to par since Venables, Elliott, and Scott. Those guys were also great recruiters.

Bowden wasn't content with mediocrity. He simply couldn't get better players.

Bowdens last recruiting class was top 5 if I remember correctly.

He was still recruiting against teams with outstanding facilities. We had the WEZ that was still very new but did not have the indoor practice facility, football operations building, etc.
If Bowden had those in place, I believe he would have turned the corner. Remember, Dabo wasn’t doing so hot until those things were announced/came to fruition.

Yeah, the questionable call did not lead to 46 points to Duke. Our secondary looked completely lost ..after scoring a late TD in the 2nd quarter to seemingly take a lead at the half, giving up the TD to Duke with seconds remaining in the half sealed our fate. The most obvious play to defend and our D let them score ..
Every team should just throw on us, in any situation .. our secondary couldn’t cover their nose if sneezing 🤧

Where did Dabo address poor coaching hires? I agree with you on Allen, he needs to be given the ability to bring in his own coaching staff. It is not really fair to judge him on one year with none of his coaching staff with the exception of his son. Personally, I think that the Offensive and the Defensive Coordinators should be able to hire their own staff. They are responsible for their coaching hires.

So Riley's offense scores 45 but he needs a pink slip? Head scratcher.

Duke's Defense? Illinois scored 45 on them and I think G5 Tulane put 35 on them

I heard(hearsay) that there are some members of the staff that believed they were the next up after Wes and Streeter and were not “all in” when Riley and Allen were brought in. They tried to hide it and would not go to Dabo and speak on it but after a time it became obvious, Riley first became aware that installations were not going on schedule and sometimes had to be moved and lately Allen. It might be just the latest talk but it might explain some things. Pretty much the consensus has been the constant question of what coordinator takes a job and doesnt staff it with there people asap in the first place. I personally dont want to see the same names throughout the administration any longer, but thats just me.
