I look at the history of this coach

and wonder, will we ever luck into someone like this who can elevate us to winning 22-24 games a year consistently?

Dude has never won less than 23 games in a season (last year doesn't count, and they still won 21 out of 23).

Lol. He is great. But never leaving Gonzaga. Why would he. He can win a Natty there because has come so close before.

He did mean it that way. He meant can we catch lightning in a bottle and have a miracle and find some young coach that becomes great and just wants to stay at Clemson like what happened for Gonzaga.

yep I took it as the hoops equivalent of Dabo. Someone like Barnes was- a mover and a shaker. Energize the program.

Matt McMahon of Murray State needs some serious consideration. This fellow is getting the job done. I believe from what I saw tonight they would beat us. I don’t believe in my history of being a Clemson fan of over 60 years Injave ever seen a Clemson coach that fans want to see gone more than Brad. There is no support from any fans I come in contact with except a couple on this board,

Who said he was leaving?

Who suggested that even. I didn't.
I was asking if we could ever luck into someone like that who can build a monster program like he did at Gonzaga. I'm thinking out loud, will we ever be that lucky.
Though, I wouldn't mind seeing us go hard after an assistant of his either if everything makes sense.

I look into the history of a lot of coaches, and as far as Clemson goes, I think we need someone who knows the lay of the land. In other word, and in my opinion, Clemson needs first and foremost a coach who can recruit the territory. Neither Brad ,or Oliver before him were from this part of the country .Greg Buckner was not only was born in Kentucky, but at played at Clemson, and that is the type of coach I would go after first. Mark Few would is not going to leave Gonzaga for Clemson .Why should he?

I agree 100%. There is nothing that could make Few to leave and come to Clemson unless he has a desire to rebuild a program from the ground up. I just don’t see it at all.

Nobody think he would ever leave. He has been offered contracts twice what he makes to go elsewhere and he isn't interested. He is a Northwest guy and also an avid fly fisher. He loves his life. This thread is of course about finding our person who is somewhat similar.

Agree, exactly what is needed.
But TigerCC is not saying Few would come here. He's saying get someone that can win and build a program like he did and stay loyal. Not move on like Barnes did.

in football. You just don't see mid-majors be perennially in the Final Four discussion, but he has Gonzaga to that point.

If you think Mark Few would come to Clemson. It takes a special person to take on the Clemson job. Lots of negatives, very few positives.
