the Dance, while the SEC is expected to get EIGHT. What the Hail? The SEC only has six teams that have won 20 or more games, while the ACC currently has SEVEN. What in the world shifted for the SEC to suddenly be considered this great basketball conference, and the ACC downgraded? I will agree the ACC is not what it once was, but I STILL consider it better than the SEC. Four bids vs eight is hogwash.

ESPN is heavily invested in the sec. They control the narrative. When the talking heads lie enough, the sheeple start to believe the lies. Even the other talking heads. Historical performance doesn’t lie; the ACC is the king of the dance. By limiting the number of ACC teams, they open the door for their darling conference to get more teams.

It’s the money. The rise of the SEC in basketball is just another example of how the money flowing into that conference is lifting all of their sports programs.
It's mostly money from ESECPN, so ESECPN is presenting and protecting their investment.
ESECPN resembles FoxFakeNews, by protecting their investments. Although the ESECPN robots probably don't continuously LIE like FFN (only TheRump lies more than FFN), the ESECPN biased rankings and stories tote the company line.
It's just another failure of equally in college sports. (At least the AP polls were inclusive of writers around the country, and the AP had little vested interest in the outcome of games and the poll positioning.
After the NCAAT, the ESECPN talking heads will ignore the outcomes of most of the SEC teams that floundered (b/c they were overrated).

The committee doesn’t want to make any decisions or go out on any limbs so the lean heavily on a half a dozen or so mathematical models. The SEC and Big 12 are better at manipulating those models than other leagues. Go back and find Brownell’s interview with SVP he lays it out.

lovefest, and has been trending that way with the help of ESPN in recent years.
UNC vs Duke is about the only thing ESPN cares about from the ACC.
Tennessee, Bama, Auburn, Kentucky, Florida and South Carolina are all in the tournament and should be. That's six spots.
Mississippi State and Texas A&M, for some reason, are getting propped up as teams that are "in", while Pitt and Wake are left out, and UVA is scrambling for a first four spot. 8 spots, out of 14 teams in the SEC...while 4 out of 15 in the ACC.
Mississipi State had a losing conference record. Texas A&M went .500...but still doesn't have 20 wins.
I do think either Pitt or Wake should get a bid and get the ACC up to 5...and only one in the "first four".

Same thing that's going to happen in football playoff. Most teams from sec/big. ACC/sec basketball preseason challenge was even. Not sure what overall record was for ACC vs sec if there was any games besides ACC/sec challenge and Clemson vs chickens.

In my opinion the ACC should get UNC, dook, Clemson,UVA, Pitt. I had picked Pitt to win the ACC tournament. We shall see I guess.
